After many doctors appointments, blood tests, and some x-rays and ultrasounds, my doctors have determined I have a) some kind of autoimmune disease or b) fibromyalgia
The last of the blood tests results are supposed to come out around Christmas day. So it's either gonna be:
Happy Christmas! You have lupus/sjogren's/[insert other autoimmune disease here]
Or
Happy Christmas! You have fibromyalgia.
🙃
All I know is they've ruled out rheumatoid arthritis so. Yay?
Ok. I know I don't need 5 little capybara plushies but. They're 5 for the price of 2 and they're soooo cute afsgshdjdjdk
LOOK AT THEM!
Pls help I need to make good financial decisions 😭
I messaged my mum about them as a potential Christmas present and she thought my WhatsApp had been hacked 😭 all because I said the sale was ending in a few hours lmaoo
Although I'm glad she's the type to check instead of getting caught out by scammers 😅
Oh shoot does that make me an influencer? 😅 I hope you enjoy your new friends!

Anyone else just... really freaking Tired?
Just saying now this comic shares a lot with the common concept of narcolepsy where at any time at the day you can feel randomly tired and exhausted, leading to loss of focus, holes in memory and loss of muscle strength, it will appear specifically after high emotional influence and your body will usually continue functioning, just not very well. (If you were writing, you may automatically write words, and not remember you wrote them afterwards)
Autistic burnout instead is a constant feeling of tiredness and emotional depletion from chronic stress. I am suffering from this, so i am intimate with it. This will usually last the rest of the day until you can either de-stress enough to keep yourself moving or can last up to several days where things you are usually great at or things you usually do become slow and unmanageable. It comes with anxiety or irritability and reduced tolerance to sensory input, resulting in often headaches
If you're feeling this, i do heavily suggest you get it checked anyway, because if you DO have narcolepsy, doctors/therapists can help mitigating some of the effects, and if you have autistic burnout, you can get medicine that can help with managing it.
Interesting, I've wondered about narcolepsy before, but I thought it was where you randomly go from wide awake to fast asleep rather than a constant sense of being tired. I haven't fallen asleep while actively doing something like talking or walking, but I've definitely fallen asleep or ended up in a weird dream state while sitting in meetings or working on the computer.
I've been dismissed as a hypochondriac many times though so I'm very anxious about talking to a doctor about anything unless I'm almost 100% sure 😅 I feel like I've been in various stages of autistic burnout for years so I've been attributing it to that and the PoTS
Anyway, thank you for pointing it out! I'm going to do some research.
Hello! Just dropping in to let you know I'm running a sale on my shop right now for Black Friday! It's 25% off almost everything - keychains, worry stones, badges, and t-shirts :)
Sale ends 2nd December!
Note: I am unable to ship my polymer clay items to EU countries due to GPSR regulations, but I can ship them in the UK, US and other non-EU countries. Badges and t-shirts can be shipped worldwide :)
I've been working on a communication shirt/hoodie design! I've been looking for one that shows the emotion/need clearly and is also just a cute shirt without being obviously a communication tool.
I struggle with reading faces so sometimes I find it hard to understand what emotion the pictures in other designs are trying to portray. But if the pictures are labelled I want it to feel like part of the design instead of just put on top of the image.
Here's what I've come up with! It's cats, because I love cats :) Now I'm trying to decide if I like it better with the text or if it's clear enough without.
I'd love to know if any of you have a preference, or if you have any other thoughts on the design :)
And the winner is... yes text! Thank you to everyone who voted!
This shirt design is avaliable in my Etsy store right now in a range of colours - I hope you like it and find it helpful :)

It's my first day back at my regular job after the Book Hiatus and I already feel insane.
They updated my computer to windows 11 while I was gone and it reset all my settings, I couldn't log in to emails for half an hour because 2 step verification wasn't working for no reason, there's been updates to various software that I didn't know about so I've wasted a bunch of time trying to figure why my old versions didn't work, and that's before we get into trying to actually do the job
Also I have over 1200 unread emails 😩
As a low support needs autistic person, I kinda feel like a failure for not completing college (I dropped out after a year due to my really bad anxiety) but I'm thinking about going back to college someday. Despite graduating high school early and working a part-time job, part of me still feels empty without a college degree somehow. It's like I feel worthless unless I have a stupid fucking degree in something that won't even guarantee me a job that requires said degree. T^T
Dropping out of college does not make you a failure. College/university can be extremely difficult, even more so for neurodivergent people. Going at all is a really big deal!
Whether or not you have a degree doesn't determine your worth. You have intrinsic value as a person regardless of any academic achievements (or career achievements, or whether or not you get married, or anything else society likes to tell us we 'should' be doing).
That said, if you would still like to go back to college, choose a subject that genuinely sparks joy for you. Don't choose something just because people say it will get you a good job or lots of money. I know so many people who did that and spent the whole time miserable, and the ones that didn't drop out ended up with a degree in something they hated and never wanted to work in. Not to mention, the job market is very difficult right now for pretty much everyone, and like you said there's no guarantee of a job just because you have a degree. But if you choose a subject you care about, you have a higher chance of being able to stick with it, and hopefully you'll even enjoy the course.
Research as much as you can about what that specific course entails as well to see if the teaching style is likely to work for you. When I went to university, I specifically chose a course that had no exams and was 100% coursework, because I find exams in timed conditions really stressful and I knew I would struggle if my course included those. And if you can, look into what kind of accommodations are avaliable to make it easier for you with your anxiety, like extra time for assignments or remote learning. You don't necessarily need a diagnosis to access extra help. Some places also let you study part time - it might take longer to complete, but it's a less intense experience.
Another option is studying a topic without specifically going for a degree. If there's something you're just interested in learning about, you can teach yourself almost anything through books, YouTube, or online courses.
Whether you decide to go back to college or not, remember that it does not affect your worth as a person. You are important whether you have a degree or not. Wishing you the best with whatever you decide ❤️
re: period tracking! if you can stand the cost and data practices, smart rings have been a boon for me. they work by doing what would have been otherwise super inconsistent: taking your temperature... or at least that's how mine does it, i've been using oura and it predicts my period quite well most months.
also chiming in to agree that period management is definitely a ymmv situation. just learned that i cannot stand cups. looking to try fabric pads next, but there are so many and i don't know how to begin filtering to suit my needs.
and ps since i don't ask often: thank you for a delightful comic and blog!
Thank you! 😊
And thank you for the suggestion - I didn't even know smart rings existed! They look very futuristic :D I'm glad yours is helpful!
Just to expand on the data practices thing, definitely check the privacy policies of any app/device you use that can track important information like period tracking. Some of them can be shady about whether they will share your data to third parties, and depending on laws around birth control and abortion in your location, that could put you at risk if the wrong person accesses it. I'm not saying this to worry anyone, it's just unfortunately something to be mindful of in the current political climate. Please stay safe!
