Because my girl is so pleased to have him as hers she doesn’t want to give him some generic pet name that could be for anybody. Not when she can say his name. Most people call him by his title or his rank or just his unadorned last name; she is one of a very few who GETS to use Xaden, and she’s going to fucking use it.
do you know why xaden knew exactly how to touch violet ?
i mean yea he’s hot and knows what he’s doing— but most importantly, he had already touched her dozens of times in her thoughts
xaden’s power means he can see intentions, sometimes even before the person themself realizes what it is. the second before they do it or think it. and he said usually the thoughts come in pictures.
imagine how many flashes of her thoughts he got— his hands on her, his mouth on her, his body against hers. i mean by the time he finally got to touch her he was practically an expert in violetology

can we talk about how weird the whole "xaden had to reach age 10 and then his mom was free to go" thing is?? it just feels like such a random age to choose?? if fear of the child dying and being left without an heir for the throne again was the logic, that could happen at any age so why 10??
maybe there's something i've missed when it comes to policies of royal families butttt that whole arrangement seems sus.
