Happy Caturday! Behold the caracal (Caracal caracal) and its stylish ear tassels. Some scientists think that this cat twitches its tufts to communicate with others (in addition to meowing, purring, hissing, and other feline vocalizations). It’s the fastest cat of its size, running up to 50 mph (80.5 km/h), and can jump as high as 10 ft (3 m)! In fact, this hunter has a reputation for jumping up to swat birds out of the air for a meal. Other prey include small mammals like hyraxes and hares. This species can be found in arid habitats in parts of Africa and Asia.

i think it's almost universally agreed on that zoey is more doggirl than catgirl but this is basically just one of those pictures where a cat has taken over a large dog bed. do you see my vision.

– recorded Rumi singing Let It Go and doing the full Elsa hand-down-the-braid move. refuses to delete it. threatens to leak it whenever Rumi gets cocky.

– waited until Mira was in the middle of a complicated stretch and then did everything in her power to make her laugh and fall over. succeeded. got yelled at. would do it again.

– stole the last cookie and blamed Bobby. Bobby took the blame without hesitation. everyone knew it was Zoey. justice was not served.

– has used her shin-kal to pick her teeth (in private, she’s not an animal). Celine would pass out if she knew.

– has to be actively supervised in public because the last time they lost track of her she somehow ended up in a street rap battle with three strangers and a crowd forming.

– signs her name with little stars and hearts at fan signings and draws tiny doodles if staff doesn’t stop her. takes FOREVER.

– snores. loudly. starfishes in her sleep. Rumi has absolutely woken up trapped under a rogue elbow.

– randomly says English memes out loud (“can I pet that dog??”) at the worst possible moments. Mira understands. Celine ignores it. Rumi is always like “what does that MEAN.”

One time my grandfather picked me up from the airport and was driving me home and asked if I wanted to stop at McDonald's. And I was like sure, we can stop at the one in [town].

And he was like "we don't need to go to [town], we'll just go to the one in your town. And I said my town doesn't have a McDonald's. And he was like "okay, we'll go to the closest one". And I was like right, the one in [town]. And he said "that's twenty minutes away from your house, you really don't have one closer?" And when I confirmed that he said "well, it doesn't have to be McDonald's. It can be whatever fast food place is in your town." And I was like there is no fast food in my town. There is no food in my town period unless you want to stop for gas station hot dogs. And he was like "that doesn't make any sense. Then what do you do when you need food?" And I said I drive to [town]. And he said "every single time you need food or groceries?" And I said yeah, that's sort of how the fixed nature of buildings work. And then we drove in silence for ten minutes while this man tried to wrap his head around the fact that I had to drive twenty minutes to town to go grocery shopping.

Anyway a lot of you remind me of this experience pretty much every time the urban/rural divide comes up on this website.
