Just wanted to ask about the Ping Bros AU.
When Li sees 'Finn', was there any kind of reaction there like, oh a boy the same age as my brother...I'm sad again. Or anything? Sorry.
Like, the moment he sees him? Of course not, there's a ton of 10yo boys in the world. But you're not completely wrong tho!!!
The thing is, when Li runs into yet another issue, there's a far from 0 chance that "Finn" is there with him. So, going through all of that side by side? Li kinda thinks about what it would be like to have Lee by his side in the same manner and somewhat bonds with "Finn" in the same way.
Now, there's also a scene I've imagined a while ago so I don't remember it as clearly as I would like to, but still.
These two are sitting together – either locked up or waiting for a good timing to get out – and "Finn" confronts him about it, asks Li why is he that friendly, and he tells that "Finn" reminds him of his little brother. Now, Lee takes that as "he tries to replace me with someone else, huh??? Thought so" and lets out just that, saying "don't you think your brother would mind you treat someone else like him?"
Anyone remembers that post when I said Li half the time looks on a verge of breakdown but never does that? Yeah, he also looks like the saddest kicked kitten ever in this moment, telling "Finn" about how he doesn't know if he would mind because he never got to really know him, how he lost him and never stopped looking for him, how whatever is happening now obviously sucks – especially the detention – but also it gives him more threads to follow than ever...
Li then realises he kinda dumped all of that mess on a 10yo – who looks like the world just exploded – and tries telling him to not really think about that too much.
Lee though? He just found out that his brother cared more than anyone this whole time. Now, that, of course, isn't a confirmation, maybe he just plays the sad heartbroken brother part for everyone. Good thing he then gets confirmation in form of him looking through Li's room(as per the Serpent part) and finding his clue board..
