what they dont tell you about the field of Being Chained To Radiators In Someones Basement is that its ALL networking and word of mouth. you can never find it on indeed or whatever you really have to put yourself out there and really the job finds you. sometimes the job suddenly finds you vulnerable and walking home alone late at night. happened to my buddy once

Chronic Illness Whump Prompt List 2

(The first one) <-

  • "I'm fine." Leader argued, getting up from their seat. As soon as they were to a stand, their facial expression slacked, their eyes glazing over. They begun to teeter.
  • Whumper held Nonhuman Whumpee's jaw open. The creature whined as the sensitive ache lining their gums spread throughout the roots of their teeth, reaching up into the rest of their face.
  • Villain's energy plummeted. Fatigue found its every way into their body, seeping into their muscles, bleeding through their veins. Even lifting their head up was too much. The neck pained at the simple weight. And here was Hero, staring at them like an alien creature.
  • Attempting to self-massage, Whumpee stretched their arms over their shoulder, pawing their fingertips uselessly at the skin of their back. It just hurt so much. They'd ask anyone, ANYONE, to knead the pain.
  • Whumpee couldn't even roll over in bed. They don't know how many days they've spent laying in the same spot.
  • "What hurts?" "Everything."
  • Stoic Whumpee couldn't play it off anymore. Although they remained quiet and indifferent, their hands were swollen like balloons.
  • Out of nowhere Leader turned pale. Their knees wobbled, as the exhaustion climbed up their legs, replacing every ounce of energy left.
  • Whumpee finally has a chance to escape. Whumper is having a flare up, this may be their only opportunity in a long while.

It's so funny to me that the term "whump" can easily mean anything from "this character has a cold 😦 but here's another character taking care of him 🙂" all the way over to "this character is being viciously tortured to death" and sometimes those two creators are following each other.

"You aren't trying to trick me, are you?" The villain gave his partner a warm smile, but his eyes shone with nothing but malice.

"Now why would I ever do something like that?"

"I don't know—especially because you know that I'm far cleverer than you, and I'll make what little's left of your life hell if you were to ever try something."
