There’s something really interesting that I’ve been thinking about ink fighting style.
First of all yes, we know that ink will avoid physical battles as much as they can, trying to talk first or even make deals and truces, but then what would he do if it is inevitable??
After seeing the prism collection merch for the 7574837 time I saw something really obvious but that I haven’t seen drawn or use anywhere. Ink seems to have attack blasters and friendly blasters.
We have NEVER seen ink canonically fight physically whit any one, the closest would be the super short ambush that Underswap papyrus does to them in that old comic, but even then ink doesn’t fight back, just teases him while using one leg to keep a distance, but never kicks or does anything. Sooo the only image we have is this amazing art of the prism merch (this collection is heaven on earth for ink theorist you guys have no idea, all my theories come from there is kinda ridiculous) .
Those blasters are really different uh? More like snakes than dragons, more like ASIAN dragons than European dragons uh? Even whit the details of the long snout and slim horns that go behind, not up, not even mentioning the long body and sharp way bigger frontal fangs (imagine a bite, ouch) We see that they have some kind of shining black ink ready to shoot at inks orders.
(Omg the black “snakes” can even be taken as an epic for the forgotten ones reference HASSJSJDK)
But something even more interesting is that ink seems to have to create them manually, not like other blasters that just appear magically whit the iconic sound effect, if this is true, the pictures seems to show ink creating a line of this snake blasters whit they’re gaze always on the target, they’re already hurt (just barely, some scratches in the clothes) sooo this paints the picture of a situations where ink tried to talk first, failed, got attack and made this battle tactic rapidly as self defense, but whats is EVEN more interesting is that he isn’t shooting at all, the blasters behind are ready and loaded, why not just give the order? I think they’re are still giving the opponent a chance, “go on pal, i dare you” kinda chance.
In contrast, LOOK AT THIS CUTIEEESSSSS
While they have sharp horns i can’t help but notice that they’re fangs are rounded and have a kind smile compared to “the snake ones”, come on, look at that big smile and tongue, no thoughts, just puppy aura, also they seem super chill, most of the time if they’re not smiling like dummies they’re taking naps or resting (like it seems in the examples) I don’t believe in the slightest that they have been in a fight EVER. And also have never been seen whit some kind of paint or blast on their mouths, so maybe they even can’t shout power, who knows.
Aaand about bromieee I don’t really know, they’re in the illustration of the battle, but it doesn’t look like a weapon and more a tool, i have mixed feelings whit ink using broomie to hurt, I think they would go like “is for creating, not destroying “ kinda, but again who knows, and also battles whit broomie are super cool and creative so mmh please tell me what you think!
Here some drawings of the sillies, I hope this is true because it would be awesome to have blasters sub-species or something like that :D
