I’ve just discovered riddler from Batman 89’ Echos and he’s SO CUTE

rereading  the  third  issue  of  sirens  for  the  thousandth  time,  i’ve  noticed  something.  dick  accuses  eddie  of  only  trying  to  solve  multiple  murder  cases  because  he  wants  the  exposure  for  business.  thus,  money.  eddie  doesn’t  necessarily  disagree  with  this.

HOWEVER.  literally  moments  later,  eddie  says  he’ll  get  credit  for  it,  whether  he  DIES  or  not.

sounds  like,  in  the  end,  eddie  doesn’t  care  if  he  fucking  dies.  but  if  he’s  dead…  then  how  is  that  good  for  business  ?  because  dick  is  actually  wrong  here.  eddie  isn’t  doing  this  for  business.  eddie  has  never  really  cared  about  getting  more  business,  or  money.  he  cares  about  attention.  even  if  he  does  die  here  -  it  won’t  matter  to  him.  what  matters  is  that  people  will  see  him  as  a  hero,  he’ll  be  applauded  for  helping  give  justice  to  the  victims.  people  will  constantly  talk  about  him,  and  he’ll  be  written  in  history.  therefore,  eddie  will  get  attention.

because  no  matter  what,  eddie’s  main  obsession  will  always  be  attention.

it’s just CRAZY how this has happened quite a few times. ppl making totally wrong assumptions about eddie!!!!

like in this instance, where king tut urges batman that he “can’t trust” eddie, only to discover that eddie kept his promise. NOT ONLY THAT!!! but literally EARLIER in the comic…

someone literally DIES because batman refuses to get eddie’s help, and even after this, he STILL believe it’s eddie who’s at fault (when he’s not)!!!!!

in another comic, pamela urges harley that eddie CAN’T be trusted. and guess what?? it’s pamela who later USES and LIES TO eddie!!! betraying his trust when he hasn’t done such a thing!!!!!!

i dunno but it makes me EMOTIONAL when ppl assume completely false things about eddie. it also feels … oddly realistic, i guess???
