I haven’t been active here for a while and probably won’t be

I just came to say that my country Iran is going through a revolution right now and I want everyone to know that Iranians will not give up until these bloodthirsty mullahs are gone for good

This time protests are even more intense than the WomanLifeFreedom uprisings

People are protesting in the streets despite brutal government crackdowns, they’re tearing down the flags of the Islamic repooplic regime and chanting slogans against the regime non stop

The IR regime has taken to attacking literal hospitals full of injured people!!!

They’re arresting kids below 18!!

Remember:

IRANIANS DO NOT WANT THE ISLAMIC REPUBLIC REGIME!!!

WE DON’T WANT REFORMS WE WANT A REGIME CHANGE

As always mainstream media and all the self-proclaimed “human rights activists” are dead silent because supporting Iranians fighting against Islamist dictators doesn’t benefit them but fuck those posers because we don’t need such clowns we got our unity

If you want to help Iranians please be our voice and keep talking about Iran

Watch out for regime propaganda and listen to actual Iranian voices especially from inside Iran

پاینده باد ایران

💚🦁❤️

It IS different this time. The protestors have actually taken ground, but as of 11 Jan 2026, at the cost of at least 200 lives. Pro-regime forces have taken casualties too, meaning that for the protestors, it's now do or die, the uprising must succeed or the retaliation would result in many thousands of executions.

This is not a battle that can be helped with donations or volunteering - this is one of propaganda.

I think a lot of people on tumblr probably need to hear the pizza metaphor given to me by a fellow queerio.

She said, “I think sexuality is an appetite. Like, I love cheese pizza. I could eat cheese pizza for the rest of my life. But if I’m starving and there’s pepperoni right there- well, I might have some pepperoni.”

And it struck a deep cord with me. We both identified as lesbian but had slept with dudes while accepting this. For me, I was a horny teenager in a small pseudo-rural town. My options were slim but I had a sex drive. I had a lot of bad sex with dudes. I had some okay sex with dudes.

I dated a dude for three years with both of us knowing full well that I wasn’t really sexually attracted to men when we got into a relationship. I fell in love and thought maybe the sex might follow and it didn’t. I tried different labels and some fit better than others. It’s still a coin toss whether I feel like queer or lesbian describes me best on a given day.

But much like eating a slice of pizza with toppings you don’t care for there was still aspects I could enjoy. Gender is like this. Sexuality is like this. It’s okay not to know, and it’s okay if you try things and it’s okay if you think you like pineapples but later your tastes change. It’s okay if you COULD eat some variety of pizza but it’s just not what you really want. It’s okay if you don’t like the pizza but you like the company that comes with it.

It’s all okay.

Okay. I’m going to assume that this is a good faith argument and engage with it as such, but also what you’re saying has been parroted at me by TERFs as well. You have just said that I don’t get to determine what my sexuality is because you don’t agree with the circumstances under which I slept with someone.

Let’s look at this from a different angle. If an ace person who does not experience ANY sexual attraction chooses to have sex with their allosexual partner- that’s not self harm. That’s them loving their partner and choosing to engage in an activity willingly. You don’t get to tell someone who’s ace that they’re not ace for sleeping with their partner. My sexuality refers to what sparks sexual attraction, but it does not mean I need to be disgusted by anyone who doesn’t fit that criteria.

Maybe there’s an ace person who is sex repulsed, who will not get any benefits from that experience. That is what you’re describing here. I am not advising with this metaphor that someone who is gluten intolerant eat pizza. If you HATE dudes, then this metaphor might not be for you.

Maybe this metaphor is for a trans person who does not experience dysphoria with their assigned gender, but experiences euphoria with their actual gender. Or a trans person who doesn’t like most aspects of their assigned gender but did like some parts of it. They don’t need to feel guilty or fully reject aspects that they did like, and I find it really shitty that so much of the queer community feels this intense rejection of things that don’t fit into their idea of a label.

I had sex with a dude I loved because he was my partner and I chose to be with him because I didn’t think sex was the end all be all of a relationship. His companionship was precious to me.

If YOU are sex repulsed by men, that’s okay. But you do not need a gold star to be a lesbian, you do not need to have hated every moment of sex you had with a dude. It’s literally okay to be like, that wasn’t great, but some parts of it didn’t disgust me? It’s even okay to be like, that was fine but I don’t want it again because I’d prefer this other topping. That’s it.

This is something where I wonder if the reason that we don't have words for the different ways of interacting with sexuality, because many of them are still so taboo in some ways.

As in, the difference between;

"If the only option to have [the kind of sex I want] is with someone I am not attracted to, I would rather not have it." and "I will have sex with someone I am not attracted to in order to have the type of sex I want."

Where "type" can be anything from "the kink I enjoy" (eg "I want to fist someone", "I want someone to flog", "I want someone in latex") to "at the time and place that I want it" (eg "I want to go to the bathhouse tonight", "I want to go home with someone after the party", "I want to join the mile high club") to "in the emotional sphere that I want" (eg "I want a friend that I have regular sex with" "I want just a one night thing" "I want sex with someone I love and share domestic life with")

I know it's a joke, but at the same time... There are straight men who will have gay sex in the bathhouse because they want truly anonymous sex, and it's more valuable to them to have that, than to need to have it with women. I feel like it's more well-known in kink circles that there are plenty of people who will pick partners for kinks who are known to be experts in that kink, even if they aren't "their orientation", because they're more concerned with seeking out the best caning top, needle player, double-fister etc. And even cishets know the experience of going home at the end of the night with someone you don't fancy, because you just wanted to end the night of dancing with sex.

And I feel like there is still a lot of judgement towards people who experience their sexuality like that- Either outright calling them sluts, or desperate, or leaning into pop-psychology and calling it self-harm or dopamine-addiction or whatever, when it's just another way of being.

Finally broke down and looked up "67" on wikipedia today, and i love that wikipedia had to include the fact that people are using the meme as evidence of "brain rot" in younger generations because of how low-effort it is. And like, i have no horse in this race, i'm clearly out of touch enough with what the kids are saying that i have to go look up memes on the internet to understand them, but brain rot? I'm pretty sure kids have been saying random numbers as memes since... like, the beginning of language. the beginning of numbers. I'm guessing that some time around 15,000 years ago in hunter-gatherer tribes all around the world a scene played out where one kid shouted "hey look, four rocks!" after seeing a few rocks on the ground, and every other kid in the tribe shouted "four rocks! four rocks!" and the adults just stood around like "what the fuck are the kids on about now?" and then had to live with the kids saying "four rocks!" every time they saw four of literally any object together. Like, this does not seem like a new phenomenon.

You make a compelling point. Especially because "four rocks" IS hella fun to say. Thanks for the new way to confuse my friends when hiking!

four rocks!!!

four rocks!!!

The high geologist strikes again.

Disabled adults should get to choose to go to bed whenever the fuck we want, even if the support we need to do so is inconvenient or expensive.

Disabled adults should be able to go on nights out with friends until 5am then sleep in until the afternoon if we want to.

I really shouldn’t be turning down social invites because my care provider and local authority say I need to be in bed by 10pm at 26 years old.

This also applies to disabled adults who live in nursing homes or supportive housing, especially intellectually disabled adults who are often treated like children with strict bedtimes and mealtimes and punishments if they wish or need to sleep or eat on a different schedule or want to enjoy the same flexibility as any other adult person.

There needs to be an extraordinarily compelling reason to control people and remove their autonomy about things as simple as sleeping and eating (and toileting which is a whole other post). "But it's not convenient to the workers" isn't compelling at all.

Definitely!

Stay up Late” is an organisation in the UK campaigning to end bedtimes for people with learning disabilities (US English: intellectual disability).

They also have gig buddy volunteers who can go with learning disabled people to live music or sports events.

"i would kill a pedophile to protect my child" ok but would you teach your child how to say no? even to adults? even to adults you like? would you teach your child the words "penis" and "vulva" and then use them? would you let them ask questions about their body? would you answer them honestly? would you learn how to cope with your feelings when you talk about human bodies, so they don't feel ashamed? would you set a positive example for how you talk about your body? would you tell your child they don't have to hug or kiss anyone? would you tell your family the same? would you stand by them when they refuse to hug someone? even someone you know has never done anything to hurt them? would you let your child avoid food they don't like? would you let you child avoid people they don't like? would you believe them? would you sit in the discomfort of not knowing all the answers and not take it out on them? would you love your child the same if someone did hurt them? would you make them feel valued just as they are? would you let them talk to doctors or nurses in private? would you let them express their feelings? would you show interest in their life? would you let your child say no to you? would you help your child feel safe coming to you when they make a mistake? would you apologize to your child? would you believe them? would you put aside your anger to focus on what would make your child feel safe and loved? would you put your ego aside for your child? would you take your child's concerns seriously? would you listen to your child? would you believe them?

Gay porn is sacred and should be allowed on every platform.

My child, who spends their entire life being transfered from home to car to school and back, and is not allowed to leave the house or talk to anyone and can only in their wildest dreams imagine a life free from constant surveillance, is very sad. Obviously they're dumb and lazy, like all kids these days.

kind of a tangent but i recently went to a bowling alley with my friend i'm 19 he's 18 and the woman at the door didn't want to let us in because there was a sign saying under-18s needed adult supervision. everything got cleared up and we were able to go bowl, but i'm still so mad about the fact that kids need adult supervision to go to a bowling alley and arcade. like okay maybe young kids should have supervision but what do you mean middle and high schoolers need to hold mommy's hand while they play video games. kids aren't just addicted to their phones because phones are addicting, we're addicted to our phones because there's nothing else to fucking do

I'm sure banning kids from online spaces while simultaneously not ensuring that they have access to offline spaces to socialize in (without having to rely on their parents who already don't have time for them) will help them feel better & less alienated from society.

I know I haven't posted regularly on this blog in years but I'm not seeing a whole lot of posts on this site about what's happening in Minneapolis right now. And the posts I am seeing are not covering the scope of it. I'm genuinely surprised because tumblr is usually where I find out about things organically through my feed. So I'm making a post about it.

A brief summary of events, from someone who pays attention and also lives here, best taken with a grain of salt and some fact checking:

2020: George Floyd is murdered by Minneapolis police. There are weeks of protests about it. It makes national news. Protests happen in DC. The infamous Trump and his bible photo shoot happens.

2024: Gov. Tim Walz is Kamala Harris' running mate in the presidential election. He starts the "they're just weird" thing. Is folksy, Trump personally hates him.

November 2025: ICE starts showing up to "crack down" on "illegal immigrants" in our Somali community. I may remember the numbers wrong, but something like 90% of our Somali neighbors are either naturalized or were born here. People distribute ICE whistles and are on high alert. Localized to the twin cities.

December 2025: Nick Shirley is paid by a bunch of MN Republicans to do an exposé on daycare fraud. I didn't hear much about this. All I really know is this was an ongoing investigation that MN officials were already taking care of and some of the guilty parties have already gone to court from a COVID era food assistance program. Mostly, if not all, legal US citizens. He did a really bad job at doing journalism and just showed up to day cares with a camera crew and went "YUP nobody's here" as if they weren't in lock-down procedure because some fuck ass white men showed up with camera equipment that could easily be mistaken for guns. I believe. I will fact check all of this and will correct myself in a reblog if necessary. (source but not all the details that I remember hearing about but they said there was no recorded evidence of fraud)

Conservative internet explodes. Kristi Noem sends a mess of agents. I know it's more than a thousand more. They call it Operation Metro Surge. They are going everywhere. There are protests. People try to interrupt the arrests. It's a lot.

1/7/2026: Renee Nicole Good is shot by an ICE agent in the middle of a protest. A few blocks away from where George Floyd was killed. Broad daylight. In front of a crowd. While she was following instructions to turn her vehicle around. Jonathan Ross, the piece of shit Nazi who did it, was recording on his phone the whole time, switched his phone to his non dominant hand so he could more effectively shoot her in the face from 2 feet away. Claims self defense, several angles immediately disprove him. He releases his video, he calls her a "fucking bitch" as her corpse drives away. Does not help him at all. (source) He has not been seen since. Some photos/reports exist of a bunch of agents showing up to his house and taking some tubs and art away. His wife is an immigrant. (source but it's the daily mail so grain of salt.)

Not hours later they go raid a school and tear gas a bunch of kids. (source). Minneapolis has switched to distance learning. I'm not sure about St. Paul.

The last week: There are up to 3,000 ICE agents here. Keep in mind Minneapolis and St. Paul only have 600 or fewer police officers each. So these dudes are roaming in packs. It's 2-4 dudes to a car and 2-5 cars per pack. People are "commuting with" ICE agents to honk and alert people that they're there. People are going on patrols with their neighbors.

ICE is no longer asking "are you a citizen." They are simply walking up to you and taking you into custody. They are going door to door. They have started just breaking the door down if you don't comply. They are driving recklessly to just grab pedestrians and drivers alike (source). People are afraid to go get groceries. It's all over the state. I am learning names of cities in places I thought were just factory farm land and I've lived here my whole life because they're doing raids there. I had to text my family in the suburbs because I saw reports of my small little hometown an hour away getting door knocks today.

It's insane and I am not doing it justice. There are thousands of masked federal agents roaming around all of Minnesota with no warrant or specific goal. They are just trolling around looking for people. They are detaining anyone and everyone. They are beating people. They are pepper spraying people. They are kidnapping people. They are acting unconstitutionally, aggressively, and unpredictably. They are creating situations that are dangerous so that they can try to justify beating or shooting their way out. I will run an errand and then get fed a tiktok that was shot from the Cub Foods that I just left and there's 20+ ICE vehicles parked there now. They're taking people from work, from day care, from schools, from shopping centers.

Iceout.org tracks ice sightings. This is a screen shot with the date set to 12/1/2025.

And from today.

They have cut off SNAP and WIC benefits. Just for us. Not any other state, just Minnesota. They're saying it's because of fraud but I think it's because they hate that we use federal funds to give free breakfast and lunch to every public school student.

And this is breaking just now, 1/13/2026: the DOJ is trying to investigate Renee Good's widow. 4 people have resigned about it. (source). I don't even want to read the article to see what they're saying.

So that's a brief history.

Unicorn Riot is doing a lot of good reporting and they don't seem to have the spin that a lot of local news stations will have where they downplay everything. This article specifically goes into a lot of the specific instances of brutality.

It's also a rumor on TikTok that all of the videos of ICE and protests and the such and the like are being geo locked. So my feed is all footage of people being detained and talking about the "commuting" they're doing and what they're seeing but people outside of the state are not seeing it. So if you're also on that infernal app, try searching for Minneapolis or Minnesota and see what you see. I'm kind of curious if this is true. Because I've been living and breathing ICE and doomsday prepping content for a week. I'm sure those two topics aren't connected.

I don't really know what my goal with this post is. I'm tired. I'm in the first ring of suburbs, so it's been pretty quiet. But I have friends in south Minneapolis. And I'm worried for them. And I know it's a matter of time before my quiet pocket is affected. Because they're coming door to door.

Pay attention to Minnesota, I think an example is being made of us.

I've been monitoring this closely because I have friends in the area, and because I think every city in the country is at risk of having the feds come to do what they're doing in Minnesota, and we all need to get ready.

There are some Twin Cities activists who have been very clearly laying out what they're doing, and why it's effective at slowing down ICE. It sounds like all you really need, is neighborhood group chats where people can let one another know when and where ICE is present, and then people show up, start recording, and blowing whistles, and then ICE will leave again more often than not. This VERY SHORT thread by a Twin Cities activist outlines what to do and how it works.

Also: Minnesota Public Radio has been doing great coverage of what's happening, and the local NBC affiliate has some excellent interviews with activists who were arrested and detained for hours.

And finally, some good news: the courts restored SNAP funding.
