Kira has been diagnosed with stage 2 chronic kidney disease. To manage her CKD, my partner and I are starting by looking for prescription renal food she can tolerate, but there have been some complications along the way. A nasty reaction to a probiotic that was supposed to help her adjust to new food means we have to take a step back and return to her old food for now. She also got a UTI on top of everything else 😭

I'm sharing this gofundme to help Dougal's parents gather funds for his IVDD recovery as they themselves do not have/use Tumblr.
Dougal's Story:
Dougal was Paralyzed by IVDD last July and had surgery as his pain was severe. Thankfully he regained his mobility and we spent the year rehabilitating him, but unfortunately this April he has had another bout of IVDD in a different set of disks. It has also led to muscle wasting in one of his shoulders due to over compensation. We've done everything we can to keep him healthy, happy and safe but he has unfortunately been unlucky. His medical team recommended that he sees an Accredited Veterinary Physio to correct his remaining neurological deficits and muscle wasting, but we are not able to afford this without help. He needs professional input; we've done as much physio and prom etc at home as possible but he needs things like gait analysis and Hydrotherapy. We'd also love if he could try acupuncture to see if this helps his pain and spasms. Unfortunately I'm also seriously ill and due to this unfortunate series of events we're restricted financially. We have an abundance of love but not money unfortunately. If you'd like to help this beautiful loving little guy get back to his usual self and give him the best chances possible for the future we'd be forever grateful. Thank you so much for your support.

for those who do not know, this is Little Bits aka Miss B, my 17-year old emotional support animal. my wife and i adopted her a bit over two years ago, and she is everything to me. she has been with us through the toughest year of our lives, along with living through being homeless with us and moving cross-country, and has handled it all with grace and in stride.
as she is 17 years old, getting her in to a vet for regular visits is extremely important, and getting her in with our local vet will run us $120 for all of her shots, a check up and for medicine to help with dry skin (an issue that she has been dealing with in the past few months). this needs to happen as soon as possible, both for her health and mine.
i know this may seem frivolous and that people will likely not deem this worthy of sparing money for, but miss b has been one of the only things keeping me alive this past year, and it would literally take so much stress and anxiety about her comfort+health off my shoulders to have help with this. folks can chip in the usual places, just leave a cat emoji in the note so i know its for miss b. thanks for reading+rbing, please dont tag this, and thanks for the help!

at $55 of the (at minimum) $600 we need before miss b's course of antibiotics are over (which is 3 days from now) for her follow up bloodwork+testing to make sure she is all better; donos have been slow coming in, which is worrying, but i am choosing to remain positive that the help will come and i can make sure my old lady is taken care of.
Yesterday, (August 19th) I found a stray kitten in front of my house. She was bleeding and couldn't walk very well so we took her to the vet. We think she might have been attacked by another animal or a person.

She is currently recovering, but the whole situation has left us with unexpected vet bills. Her bills - including emergency food and cat supplies, have amounted to R$ 776,10 or roughly 141,56 USD.

I'm happy to repor that little Meggie (that's her name!) has begun walking and can stand on her own now! We exceeded our goal, so we'll use all the extra money (roughly 300 BRL) to pay for her upcoming x-ray and a pet carrier so we can take her to the vet safely.

Although she’s been getting better, Meg’s X-ray’s have revealed that she is in urgent need of a tail amputation, as well as fixing her hips.
Her sugery is going to cost us 2,670 BRL or roughly 480 USD. This is a big quantity of money, but is something Meg absolutely needs to survive. Although she is walking now, there is a risk she could lose the movement of her back paws, and the extension of the damage means she might continue to suffer from fecal incontinence - something she is currently experiencing.
