Just here trying to flesh out Starbi's emulation of humanity. As a Starborn (my own species), his true form doesn't need to eat, drink, sleep, blink or breathe.
But I think with his fascination for humanity, and in addition, organic life. He'd want to emulate that to the best of his ability.
And with his obsession with human connection/connection, he'd try his best to appear as approachable as possible. So by proxy, I imagine he'd only emulate these human functions when he's around other people.
Right now I'm mainly focusing on sleeping, and by proxy, breathing.
I imagine Starbi would be able to sleep perfectly still which would emphasise on his inhumanity. His capabilities granted by his existence as a Starborn allowed him to be so human, he isn't at all– so to speak.
With regards to breathing, he simply doesn't need it. After all, he was originally created in space. So everything in regards to breathing, both underwater and on the surface is meaningless to him.
With sleeping habits, I do think he'd be a lightsleeper !! Without needing sleep and practically always having energy to share, he's really easy to wake up.
I do think it'd be interesting for him to also "connect" with his clones in this way too, which is another whole part of Starbi I have yet to talk about here.
So while in a comfy bed, he'd close his eyes. And in an instant, he's looking through the eyes of one of his clones created for a universe he found interesting. I guess you could call this his way of having dreaming lol.
I do think that should he "connect" with his clones this way, this would render him falling into a "deep sleep", where he actually becomes a heavy sleeper !! It could honestly allow for more fleshing out on potential dreams, and how Starbi and others could interact with his dreams. #marioandluigidreamteam
Though, perhaps him falling into a deep sleep is where Starbi stops to emulate breathing as well.
But yeah! Case in point, Starbi is a lightsleeper, and can stay perfectly still when emulating sleep or actually sleeping. Thanks for coming to my ted talk !!
