Elementary is basically certain proof that what is generally referred to as "therapyspeak" dialogue and characters being weird fucking freaks with insane interpersonal problems are not, actually, mutually exclusive.

It is in fact possible to have a character who respectfully works out interpersonal conflicts using language and techniques he learned in therapy/AA, delivers long self-aware monologues where he says stuff like "I lashed out at you earlier because of unresolved issues I have with my father", and also gaslights his codependent platonic life partner's mother into believing her Alzheimer's is much further along than she thought so that she'll actually go to the doctor about it and stop stressing said life partner out. This can happen.
