A short human scribbling away!

@littleskrib

Hey there! I'm an artist doodling my way through favorite shows | @littleskrib on twitter and instagram | commission contact: [email protected] | support me on patreon @Skribls ❤︎

A couple of months ago I told you how through your art I discovered other mediums and artists I liked and was wondering whether I should try out KCD. I finished the second one last night and I can't get it out of my head. I'm browsing (again) through your art and it's just constant "aww" moments that I absolutely love! This isn't an ask. It's just a message to tell you that your art is awesome and a thank you for the nudge towards the KCD series.

Hi! I'm so sorry for taking so long to get back to you but you have no idea how incredibly happy and thankful it makes me to hear! To have that kind of impact is such an honour and accomplishment. You are more than welcome!

I stare, for so long, in awe at each piece of art that you share - the compositiom, the subtle colour shifts, the thin detsiled lines... It is just so good!!! In addition to admiring, I am also inspired to improve my own amateure sketches. So I was wondering if you'd consider sharing how you approach shading and lighting and whether you would some time post a time lapse or progress photos of (part of) your work? (Don't worry about answering this if it requires too much, the most important part of this ask is just to express how much I adore your art!)

Hi Nonnie, Thank you so much for your kind words! From time to time I dive a little deeper into my art process over on my patreon, where I've shared a proper deep dive into coloring skin before and also like to post sketches on a frequent basis as well as some in betweens of current artworks. If you're interested in looking a little further into it, you can find it here!

Hello, first of all I absolutely adore your art and it's a big inspiration for me on how i would love my art to look like someday but i have to admit something.

I am so sorry but whenever I see this picture of Hans i can't help but see the Megamind meme 😭

I just started playing the first KCD game bc I’ve been so intrigued by the second, so I have to ask — how is the playstyle in this new game compared to the second? I’m having a hard time with combat and getting used to skills and such.

Hi Nonnie, that makes me so happy to hear! I hope you're enjoying the setting and story so far. The first is notorious for being a bit rocky in parts, and the fighting definitely takes some getting used to, but I found that with time - just like Henry - you're getting more used to it and better in anticipating the mechanics! The second definitely builds on a similar principle, but they streamlined parts of the combat into a smoother, somewhat simplified/more intuitive variant. What I do like is that more complex combinations are fun to learn, but not a must to survive. I'm doing mostly fine with a rudimentary fighting style that's building a lot on dodging and riposte 500 hours into the game(which imo did get better, as you can now dodge with the help of a button rather than by timed motions alone.), simply because recalling combinations proves a little too tedious for my playstyle. And Meisterhau definitely gives you an advantage in both games.

Skills are relatively the same, although the perks themselves are easier to gain, but it's also been a hot minute since I played the first, so it's harder for me to recall. The good thing - and also quite unique I feel - is the fact that you're not necessarily forced to fight all the time, so sometimes running is just the better option, especially against a group of foes (which is *definitely* harder in the first than the second game). One thing I definitely forgot in the first game was returning to captain Bernard after that first initial tutorial and boy did I miss out on learning some fundamentals, so in case you haven't done that either yet, make sure to give the man at least a second visit! I hope you'll navigate your way through and grow more familiar with it in your time playing, it's so worth it for the story and characters alone✨ Cheers!

hi skrib! i was wondering if you would be okay with me maybe doing a cross stitch of your hans capon marksman piece? it's just for personal use but i wouldn't want to do something with your art without your permission. much love either way and thank you for sharing your gorgeous art <3

Hi Nonnie, Yes you can, that's very exciting! thank you so much for asking☺️
