There is Something Seriously Wrong with this Logo..... Chapter Two

So. Lots of you have seen this post from my dear partner ( @lailau7904 ) in which the Williams F1 design team get absolutely torn to bits. In the case you haven't read it yet I highly recommend you do because a) it's really fucking funny and b) it makes what I'm about to tell you even funnier. Though you don't have to, this post touches on entirely different things still regarding this one goddamn logo.

The original post starts like this:

Innocent enough, we made an assumption in good faith that the logo displayed on the Wikipedia page would be the same one as the official version used by Williams. Buckle the fuck up because I'm about to tell you why that was the worst mistake we could have made.

Please. Please I beg of you keep reading this took YEARS off our lifespans. Like the original post was fun and all but it was merely the top of the iceberg. If this were an hbomberguy video this would be the part where he reveals that the background was a greenscreen the whole time. More below the cut!!! :333

seb/kimi appreciation post

the fact that kimi drank most, if not all of rookie seb's drinks that were supposed to be his (because he's the new driver on the grid) to protect him,

or

when seb said kimi was the only guy on the grid who shook his hand and introduced himself at the beginning of his career, makes me think why sebastian is so fond of kimi

like even back in his toro rosso days, he was already friends (or acquaintances) with kimi

and when kimi returned to the grid to lotus in 2012, their friendship stayed the same despite the years they spent apart

like i just love the fact that the both of them remained good friends even when they drove for the same team for four years; it's one thing to be professional and civil, and another to get along and remain friends during the times you're both in the trenches (cries in brocedes)

and after kimi left for alfa romeo, their friendship never wavered

like if someone asks me if i believe in platonic soulmates, or in long-lasting friendships, I'd probably tell them about seb and kimi-- because to have a friendship that last for years despite being under a ton fuck of pressure, is something not everyone is fortunate to have-- yet they made it work.

(misc.) notes:

- like a special mention, but when seb retired, kimi also posted in his instagram congratulating seb on a good career + retirement with a picture of them when they were in ferrari

- also, they were neighbors in Switzerland! it's something i firmly believe in because in one of the videos of F1's secret santa (2019), when gifted with a Swiss chocolate, checo goes, "vettel? kimi?" like it didn't take him a second to guess who; maybe because it's a known fact on the grid that they live near each other. i don't know about the badminton part though, but it's nice to know that they live near each other that they were comfortable being within the same neighborhood

No no no u don't understand! U don't understand that Oscar can't afford playing second fiddle to a guy who is 4 years his senior yet keeps on fucking up lap 1 in a rocket ship despite starting from pole. U don't understand that a rocket ship is an anomaly, not the guarantee. Look at Max. Look at his rocket ship. Did anyone even remotely surmise it'd turn into a wheel barrow mid fucking season!? U don't understand Oscar might never get this opportunity ever again. Daniel didn't. Alonso didn't. U don't understand that the lil boy who identified as a car has dreams, ambitions. And the talent to back them up. U don't understand that in this cut throat sport where people are let go mid season, it's very difficult to shake off the second driver tag once it sticks to u.

You want Oscar to be Bottas when he's a Rosberg and closer to being a Hamilton than his senior ever will be.

charles telling george about oscar’s overtake

“you’ll see, his overtake is really good.”

the best thing about being a lecfosa is trusting that charles will leave me feeling proud, win or lose.

we're seeing so clearly this season that not everyone on the grid is able to embody the sportsmanship spirit that charles never fails to show. it seems to come easily for him. even moments after a disappointing race, it seems be his default position.

his willingness to take accountability, celebrate his opponents' wins, and keep his eye firmly on their own work, their own opportunities, his own need to further his skills...they could never make me hate you, charlie.
