(Sorry to traumadump on your inbox but) I am so scared right now, how are you coping!?!?!? I feel like i'm about to die

I already experienced a Trump presidency from 2016-2020 and it was about exactly the same level of bad as the Biden presidency I experienced from 2020-2024. Building community and drawing on your support networks locally and/or intentionally through shared goals is going to keep you far far safer than a Democrat in the White House will. Although it might feel like your future is out of your hands, once you start looking at solutions outside of electoral politics, you will understand that you have a surprising amount of autonomy when you are conscientious about the community you build and the steps you take to keep you and your loves ones safe from harm.

I've also had this entire election cycle to come to the realization that for most people, it really won't matter who's president. With Harris' track record, I don't see her suddenly deciding to put an arms embargo to Israel without an act of God. I don't see her enshrining abortion rights or climate policies or trans healthcare. She has gone on record in support of increased policing and increased militarization. She has made NO promises to me so it's like... ok... why does it matter if you win then?

award-winning palestinian children's illustrator baraa awoor writes:

"what use is it to be an illustrator of children's books when the world has sentenced the children of your country to the death penalty, to vanish, to genocide?"

some of baraa's illustrations:

this is an illustration for youssef, whose mother is remembered running desperately into the hospital asking if anyone had seen a "small white boy with beautiful curly hair, his name is youssef," a description which was remembered by millions when she finally identified his body:

this illustration is for young omar, who was hugging his little brother and teaching him how to repeat the shahada after him (a prayer spoken by muslims before their death) as he lay on his hospital bed:

"we want a new year that doesn't kill us or our children, we want it a year without blood, without screaming, without pain, we want a new attempt to get our lives back, or something that resembled our life, even if life is a lie we still cling to it, return life to us—a new year's card unlike any other year:"

baraa is currently fundraising to get her family of 12 out of gaza. she is a friend of mine and this is a reputable fundraiser, so please donate if you can. the egyptian government is currently charging upwards of 5,000 USD per person to get to cairo through the rafah border:

$76,618 / $100,000 goal

NO DONATIONS IN 2 WHOLE DAYS - let's fix this please!!

aid is stopped altogether from entering northern gaza all the way back in february (that's 7 months ago, for anyone who's not keeping track), and it gets some lackluster headlines about israel "temporarily preventing supplies" (they have yet to allow any aid trucks through to this day). the ipc declares that north gaza is officially in the famine/catastrophe category not long after, and that also barely gets any western media attention. now the un has announced it has halted aid altogether, because of israel's sporadic evacuation orders and carpet bombing - and literally crickets. no major outlet is talking about it. this is giving the illusion that things have calmed down, when in reality they're the most dangerous they've ever been. people are starving and dying every day

asking you all to please continue donating to and sharing hazem's fundraiser, as his family in north gaza is being impacted by all this in live time. his parents and siblings (whom are literal children) live right by an aid distribution center, which is being regularly targeted by the iof every single day. this is not news. israel has been using starvation as one of its main terrorist tactics for months on end now. this is why it baffles me that hazem's fundraiser has completely flatlined. the difference between one donation and the next could cost his starving family their lives. please don't falter on this just because you're under the false impression that things have calmed down - or because you're struggling to care. things are worse than they've ever been. please, please spare what you can and share so more people can donate as well. this is incredibly time sensitive, but people are lacking much needed urgency.

there's only been 5 donations in the past 3 hours. this is extremely frightening for Hazem and his family. please stand up for them.

we're less than half away from the goal, and they need our help in order to reach it. please donate what you can, enter these raffles for donors (handmade bracelets with freshwater pearls for UK donors, spheal crocheted pokemon raffle for US donors).

€25,940 raised of €50,000 goal as of August 30.

* Evil little goblin henchman, wringing his hands and cackling* Wig, your lordship. You’re serving so much cunt today, your horribleness. Shall I summon the besties?

this horrible woman keeps saying my headphone battery at ten percent charge soon in my ear but i never see her when i turn around

palestinian culture isn't something for you to "consume". buying as many "palestinian themed" things as possible isn't being an ally. please focus on real life decolonization rather than being a performative ally. pay attention whether you are actually appreciating the culture or just consuming it for your own self interest and gain.

and at this point in time instead of buying another $20.00 kuffiyeh online or paying $50 plus s&h for a hoodie of Luffy holding a Palestinian Flag, please consider finding a family on the vetted fundraising list and donate. you will be doing so much more than contributing to cash grabs marketing off a genocide

Is that a lot of money to you?

If not, then please consider donating that amount to Safa'a and her family, who are desperate to escape the war in Gaza and start over. The fundraiser is in Euros, but a Dollar is worth an Euro, so you don't have to convert anything again! Just donate the same amount!

And if it is, then donate what you can - half an hour, ten minutes, whatever you can spare. Many small donations are what we're going for! And of course, if you can spare more hours for her, please do!

Please, let's help her out. Her fundraiser is vetted!

vetted palestinian fundraisers 8/4 part 1

this is another set of fundraisers i've been sent. because of the influx of the last couple of days & the concerted effort by the worst of this website to discredit every single palestinian, it's more important than ever donate. these people have done nothing but reach out in their worst hours, the least we can do is be there for them.

Save Kareman Dohan's Family from Despair // @karemandihan // vetted by @/90-ghost (post he reblogged) // $2,774/$50,000 USD

Kareman, her husband Ayman & their little baby Hamoud are seeking to evacuate Gaza. They no longer have any income because Ayman, who was a fisherman, lost his boat & they are simply trying to survive as we pass the three hundredth day of the genocide.
Ghazi's great aunt Alan is trapped in Northern Gaza. Both his family and her's houses were lost in the attacks on Gaza, and he wishes to evacute her to Egypt with the rest of the family. Please help reunite this family.
Ahmed is raising funds to help his family evacuate out of Gaza to Egypt. He is away in Belgium, making it possible for him to be the benefactor to the fundraiser. I can't imagine the pain of being separated by your family and not knowing if they are safe or not for so long. Please help share and donate to his campaign so his parents and siblings can evacuate.
Yousef and Khadjia, along with their baby Madj seek to evacuate Gaza and find treatment for their son. Madj has an intense respiratory illness that needs treatment that cannot be provided in Gaza anymore. They have been displaced multiple times. Time is urgent to find Madj treatment.
Raneen and her family have been displaced several times during the attacks in Gaza. Like many families, they have lost everything. Please help them gain the necessary funds to evacuate when Rafah Crossing opens up again.
Mohammed & Salam and their two children, Noor and Saeed have been displaced seven times during the attacks on Gaza. Their lived have been changed forever by the never-ending violence, displacements & bombings of their home. For the safety of the family, they have decided to flee Gaza. Please help them evacuate.
Yousef is seeking to evacuate his sister's twins, his parents & his sisters from Gaza. He emphasizes the importance of getting the family out, as every update he has received from friends and family alike about the situation in Gaza only gets worse.
Like many families, Heba's family has had their lives upturned by the constant bombing and displacement. Before the attacks started, they were receiving social assistance to get by. Now that is gone, and they need to raise the funds to evacuate out of Gaza.
Islam and his family have lost everything. They are struggling to survive in Gaza, as they have no means to support themselves and Islam's grandfather, who has already survived a previous bombing that took his hand, is unable to care for himself without help. The family needs these resources for incredibly expensive food & water to survive and to evacuate Gaza.

Rajaa & Khaled seek to evacuate Gaza with their young son, Karam. Before this began, Rajaa was a medical analysis specialist and Khaled a chef & teacher. They want to save their family, as the conditions in Gaza are no longer livable.
