★ Anonymous Letters

a/n: hello friends! i'm preparing to go abroad soon, meaning i will be uh.. posting more sporadically than usual until i get the groove of things. but here's a little thought i wrote yesterday :)

Damian sends anonymous love letters. It’s vulnerability he usually abhors– experimental, dangerous, the way a stray is attracted to the heat of the flame, wondering if the potential burn is worth the warmth. But not being able to express his emotions frustrates him more.

a single mum who works two jobs who loves her kids and never stops!!!! immaaa survivorrr

I think the weirdest form of fatphobia I keep bumping into is writers suddenly becoming deeply concerned with physical realism when a fat character is involved even in contexts where everybody's physical capabilities are explicitly bullshit. "They're fat, it wouldn't make sense for them to have super speed" and it would make sense for the 98-pound twink to be able to run at Mach Fuck? That's something skinny people can do in real life, is it?

English is not my native language, I apologize for any spelling mistakes.

What bothers me most is how some fanfics portray Bruce as being quite negligent with his children or partners (especially when the reader is supposedly married to him); at this point, it's tiresome and annoying.

Because besides being OOC, it's a misinterpretation that some comics and movies have given (the worst part is that some are already very famous), when the general consensus (that is, the majority of comics and media) is that while Bruce may be clumsy in expressing his feelings and what he's going through, he's someone who cares deeply about those he wants to protect, and he loves his children very much, even though he has difficulty expressing it.

In addition, some comic book writers don't know how to handle romantic relationships, and many people follow them without even questioning why they didn't work or what can be done in fanfiction to resolve the issues or give them more prominence.

And there's something important to remember: fanfiction opens the door to exploring what interests us or what we need to question and develop, not just following the same story or keeping everything unchanged.

if a character means enough to me i will truly never stop thinking about them. i just retire them into a little back room in my brain and periodically bring them out to stare at them under a little light
