"But are these not just spam bots which actually don’t have any real backing?" why don't we take a few minutes to actually look into this and see if we can find out instead of just guessing. All of the information I am about to provide is immediately very accessible within the bio and first post or two on the first page of each account.
the first one links to Abdullah Salem Abdullah's campaign and claims to be vetted by the gazavetters team. the gazavetters are a grassroots team here on tumblr who have been assisting to verify the legitimacy of peoples' campaigns for quite awhile now. you can see in their pinned post, written in both arabic and english, what exactly their standards and process are for verifying a campaign and decide if it's rigorous enough for you. Abdullah's post says his post is number #641 - let's go see what that number says in the gazevetters master spreadsheet
it looks like this campaign is no longer being backed by the gazavetters due to spam behavior.
that next message is for Shaima's campaign, which is #62.
i believe this means they have not heard back when asking for updates regarding this campaign, which tracks with the account not having been updated since the end of september. The fourth account is also one of Shaima's providing the same information and linking to the same campaign, and, similarly, has not posted since the end of september.
They give it the okay. The campaign linked on the blog matches the link on the spreadsheet. This campaign was also shared by 90-ghost, a longterm tumblr user who is a gazan palestinian who has been helping platform fundraisers since the beginning of the war. there's no reason to believe this is not a legitimate fundraiser.
So that's where this stands: one spammer, one ambiguous situation, and one very real person asking for help.
If you think about the fact that most of these people are communicating in a language they might either speak without full fluency or not at all, the fact that some of them are using identical templates might start to make a big more sense.
Now, here's a question I have for you: If the established aid organizations are having their entry blocked by Israel, how are they getting "real" work done? These things can not both be true at the same time. You don't have to give your money to anyone you don't want to, but if you're going to call people bots you might want to do the smallest amount of due diligence before making that claim publicly. You don't have to speak on a subject you have done zero work to acquire information about. Like i said before, you're free to just keep your mouth shut and quietly proceed with your regular blogging.
If you would prefer to donate to aid groups rather than individual families, here are some legitimate operations doing important work that could use your support.
