Her body is still weak from hunger and malnutrition, and now she has to face the cold winter in a torn tent… no warmth, no protection, nothing but the freezing wind around her fragile frame.

These past few weeks, I’ve searched desperately for any kind of job—anything to give my family a chance to survive—but the destruction here has left no opportunities. The market is barely functioning, and hope is slipping through our fingers.

My name is Mahmoud Mohammed Jaafar Jaafar. I studied computer engineering and graduated from university in 2023 i worked as a software engineer in a local company here in Gaza until the war started on October 7. Then the company got destroyed and I became unemployed. Our house is destroyed partially and became nearly uninhabitable, but nevertheless we stayed in it because we do not have anywhere else to go.

My family lives in the north of Gaza where is a scarcity of food. I have 4 sisters and 3 brothers; one of my brothers died while he was trying to find food for the family so i am the eldest in my family now i have to provide for their daily living expenses.
