Azor Ahai (don’t come at me i’d kill for her)
Returning to Tumblr following GRRM's latest interview. Sansa fans, how are you all doing knowing that he intended to kill her off? Lol There goes all the theories about Sansa surviving and ruling the North
Here is the interview for the Hollywood Reporter.
And here is the quote: "I was going to have Sansa die, but she’s been so appealing in the show, maybe I’ll let her live …”
The last ASOIAF book was published in 2011, and the first GoT season aired in 2011 too. That means that GRRM wrote all of the published books with the intent of killing Sansa, and the only foreshadowing we should find is of Sansa's death. Lady's death in the first book is the first clue I suppose.
do you ever start writing a comment on the internet and then think “oh what the fuck am i going on about” and delete it
I also enjoy writing an entire paragraph, thinking "you know, I don't actually need to be involved in this conversation," and deleting it

I get angry every time I see women changing their last name to a man's after marriage. It is so ubiquitous that I can only think of 2 women in my orbit who haven't, out of the dozens if not hundreds I've seen be married. This includes otherwise feminist women and even TIFs. They honestly make me more mad because while it "makes sense" that a Christian woman steeped in patriarchy would do this, seeing the excuses feminist/"progressive" women use just gets dull. You never see men changing their name to their wife's bc they "hate their dad" or "their wife's name just sounds better" or "it'd not my name anyways it's just my dad's." OK I guess your daughter is going to have the same excuse too. Are you happy? These are braindead excuses women give bc they refuse to admit they're afraid of making waves and/or afraid their male partner might not marry them if she's an unfun feminist. Is he really the One if he expects you to change your name? I'd respect these women more if they just admitted they're too cowardly to stand up to the societal pressure. It's YOUR name you are giving away because "he just cares about it way more than me heh." You are erasing your heritage and individuality. I swear women were better about keeping their names 30 years ago.
Shout out to one of my favorite professors ever who did in fact change his last name to his wife's simply bc he just wanted the two of them to share a name, he didn't care whose it was :) very wholesome and I think more men should do this.
I also know several women professors who are married but kept their last name. I think getting a doctorate forces even straight, mainstream feminist women to wrestle with the idea of losing their last name, because then you'd be "Dr. [guy who didn't do all the work you did!]"
But yes, overall I hate the tradition of changing your last name to match the man's. It's steeped in misogyny and the view that women are property of their "man." Disgusting! Hope it dies out

My previous blog was deleted for an unknown reason. I wrote several letters to the support, but they did not respond to me. It's a pity I lost all the content I've been creating for years. I don't think I'll be making new edits, but I miss the dashboard, because how else do I find out about new tv series and movies through the beautiful posts of the tumblr community.
Once again Daenerys dreams of recusing Rhaegar at the trident. Alas, it is too late 💔

the conservative understanding of sex and gender is that the sex determines your role in society, personality, preferences etc. so girl = likes pink
the queer understanding of sex and gender is that your personality and preferences determine what gender you are. so likes pink = girl
the radical understanding of sex and gender is that gender is made up and forced upon you from birth based on sex, but tells nothing of who you are. so likes pink = human

Normal people: On average women are smaller and physically weaker than men. This means nothing beyond that, its just how the human species evolved like most other mammalian and ape species. Physical size and strength aren't the only important things in life, or the only scale to compare the sexes. Women perform higher on other scales, such as flexibility, multitasking, academics, pain tolerance, endurance, length of life. Nature is innocent and objective, concepts such as "superior" and "inferior" are humanistic concepts that only we apply/only exist in the human mind and is a very simplistic, reductive conclusion to make, its black and white thinking.
Sexists: On average women are smaller and physically weaker than men. This means women are inferior beings to men.
Genderists: On average women are smaller and physically weaker than men. This means women are inferior beings to men. So we must deny that women are smaller at any cost.
Will never see eye-to-eye with anyone less than the people who treat their pets like wandering ronin instead of valued family members. Like oh there goes Bronson our uncollared, chipless chocolate lab out of the permanently open back door again. If he comes home in three days after subsisting on garbage we'll be mildly thrilled to see him again but if he succumbs to his natural predator, the 2006 Toyota Camry, that's just the circle of life

A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE
George R.R. Martin to Al Jazeera: the two outlying ones, the things that are going on north of the Wall and Daenerys Targaryen on the other continent with her dragons are of course the Ice and Fire of the title A Song of Ice and Fire.
George R. R. Martin to Adria's News: I mean… Fire is love, fire is passion, fire is sexual ardor and all of these things. Ice is betrayal, ice is revenge, ice is… you know, that kind of cold inhumanity and all that stuff is being played out in the books.
"No one ever looked for a girl. [...] The language misled us all for a thousand years. Daenerys is the one, born amidst salt and smoke. The dragons prove it." (AFFC, Samwell IV)
"She [Daenerys] is Azor Ahai returned [aka the Warrior of Light, the Son of Fire, the one who shall "wake dragons out of stone"] … and her triumph over darkness will bring a summer that will never end … death itself will bend its knee, and all those who die fighting in her cause shall be reborn …" (ADWD, Tyrion VI)
trends keep women in a continuous humiliated state and not exactly in the way you might think. do current extreme beauty rituals look humiliating and degrading from an outside point of view? yes, but for the people that wear them at the moment, they don’t. however, what i’m noticing is a pattern of women making self-deprecating comments about their past choices in fashion and makeup techniques. they look at old photos of themselves and instead of feeling love and nostalgia for their younger self, they feel embarrassment. “oh wow i looked like a clown with the 2016 brows and contour, i looked like an idiot dressing like an egirl at the start of the pandemic, i looked weird with my 2000s overplucked brows”. men don’t have that, they might look back at a time when they had a questionable haircut or a time they gained some weight but that’s about it. women, though, are always in a humiliated and embarrassed state. we are conditioned to not only hate our present selves but to constantly hate our past selves as well.
i've seen this term "eyebrow blindness" used to refer to how when women look back on pictures of them from c. 2016 they think their eyebrows look ridiculous but at the time they thought they looked fine.
and i just want to scream it's not "blindness!" you were following the trends that existed at the time! if you continue to follow beauty trends, you're always gonna look back in 5 or 10 years and think "god how did i go around looking like that." that's because makeup doesn't actually look "good," we just get used to seeing other women wear certain styles of makeup
