sooo. hi. its been a while. im sorry for not really saying anything but this has been a long time coming tbh. basically a couple years ago i sorta stopped using this blog as a personal bc i felt i had too many followers and was uncomfortable with the amount of people who would comment and reblog on personal posts (this was before tumblr added reblog controls)
about last year i thought id work on cleaning things up and just using it as an art blog but um. i literally havent been drawing for like a few years now lol 💀. also a bigger reason is i know a majority of you are here for splatoon but the truth is i havent been interested in it for a while. side order revived it for a minute sure, but i honestly hate the direction theyve gone with splatoon 3s gameplay and i do not have fun playing it any more
plus ffxiv's had a vice grip on me for 4 fucking years and doesnt look like its going anywhere any time soon. but id feel weird coming back with something nobody asked for, plus i hate all the old art that still regularly gets notes on here, so id rather start fresh on a new blog

see i think its a huge sign in how side order dropped the ball as a story when it seems no one can agree whether eight regained any memories from going up the spire. because the game gives abosolutely no indication whether they lost it again at the start, or they were still missing them from octo expansion, or if they never lost anything at all
PERSONALLY. im in the boat that they may or may not have regained it depending on how many mem cakes you collected. because thats what those are remember. because the reward for getting all of them is literally being able to remember the event that changed their life (agent 3 fighting octavio and exposing everyone to the calamari inkantation). and i think the stuff about eight not remembering pearl at the start is just them doing the classic "oho our protagonist is silent" bit they always fucking do. also believe or it or not some people are playing it without having played octo expansion so they need to introduce off the hook somehow.
but that loops me back to why use eight when all the cool lore about restoring the minds of kamabo co's victims just. doesnt really apply to them at all. so all the messaging about like finding your color and breaking free falls flat on its face
so im still cooking things with side order but heres what i got so far
so in case it isnt obvious yet im sorta hijacking/rewriting side order to suit my needs, partially to resolve things i set up and didnt know where to go with, but also just bc i was so disappointed at what a nothing burger the story is. i dont wanna completely write poe and ched out of it, but i might have it be that the locker thing doesnt happen with them and they just clear their own personal palettes (and maybe a few extra times after that because its fun)
