Used to be mearcats until tumblr purged me. Gender and sexuality are constructs and performances and I’m here to clown. Librarian, historian, and archivist, definitely not born in 1798. I like shows, books, cats, and art.

my favorite part of derry girls was just how accurately it portrayed being a normal person in a time of crisis. obviously the events in derry are very much real and ireland has experienced decades of political conflict, and this DOES impact the main characters in a lot of ways, but they still also…. go to school. worry about their friends and birthday parties and being together. because they’re just teenage girls (+ james) and that resonated with me a lot, especially now

unfortunately very true. Doing Better does not always mean never being upset or never being triggered or never having trouble. often Doing Better means experiencing those things and being able to keep going/cope healthily/move on. if you’re in a bubble with no sensation, if you’re numbing yourself out, that’s not what recovering really is. it won’t help you have a happier life it’ll just make your world smaller and smaller until you can’t fit anywhere anymore. gotta learn to make peace with the hard stuff too, that’s the only way to keep going

Nearly blocked someone for a vaguely annoying reply they made in 2017 then remembered 2017 was 9 years ago. They will live. We can change *opens their blog* nevermind they got worse. Guards

I am whatever the opposite of a speed runner is. I am a game meanderer. I have to look at literally everything. I am overly cautious in every way. I forget to pause and wander away from the game. I take a minimum 7 hours to get through any given level. If you give me a timer I will cry.

About a year and a half ago, I found my dream dress for formal events—flowy lavender silk, thicker straps, versatile enough to use in various seasons. However, it was also $300 and I didn’t have any formal events of any kind on the horizon, so I didn’t buy it.

I’m going to a black tie event in a couple of weeks, and I realized I needed to take a look at what I have that I can wear. I decided to do a cheeky little search to see if Dream Dress was available for a reasonable price anywhere, and…

I found it for $35, tags still on. One size too big, but that’s not a problem. Unbelievably stoked. Score of the year
