I am interested in seeing where the new John Wick Ballerina movie is going to take their protagonist's journey because for me I can't help thinking about all the great parallels between Eve Macarro and Akira Shimazu as potential successors of John Wick.
They both seek revenge for the death of their father, with John Wick being a side character on their journey, but the only difference between them was that they met John Wick under very different circumstances which caused them to have completely different reactions that will impact their path of vengeance in opposite ways.
Eve/Rooney was already midway through her journey when she met him but Akira's only started because John Wick entered her life in the worst imaginable way possible.
Eve seemed to idolise John Wick so much, maybe was even inspired by him from the start to seek her own revenge, that she asked him for advice while Akira absolutely hated John Wick for bringing doom to the Osaka Continental.
Eve would become the next Baba Yaga out of admiration while Akira become the next John Wick out of pure rage and spite.
