🧬 I have a degree in yapconomy and I never shut up about anything ever, and despite what I post here I actually am studying a focus in ecology/conservation!

🧪 I love any kind of microorganisms and parasites, bacteria, protozoa, viruses or archaea but I hold bacteria dear to my heart my favorite ones are; Treponema pallidum (syphilis), Neisseria gonorrheae (Gonorrhea) , Yersinia pesties (plague) and the Mycobacterium complex (leprosy + tuberculosis)

Did you make the warrior cats radiation AU?

Yes! I don't wanna talk about WC any longer, I have a lot of bones to pick with the writing team, you might call it a skeleton at this point.

When you say that parasites are good, does it means that we shouldn't treat them?

No! I am mostly trying to undo their awful reputation. Parasites are extremely important to the ecosystem, they manage populations and compete against other parasites that could get to us. You should absolutely treat any infections, what I mean is that people should be kinder to parasites, they do an extremely important job! I made a post about it here.

[Anything about leprosy] I've slightly touched upon the basic information about leprosy, you can read it here and here.

[Anything related to Baldwin/Leper and leprosy] To me, personally, he has LLs (Lepromatous leprosy subpolar), it's a type of unstable leprosy that leans towards lepromatous pole but can often just remain in Borderline borderline state or Borderline lepromatous state. (The tendency is that it evolves towards the Lepromatous extreme, though.) I've wrote alittle bit on how it works in reference to him here, but I am still compilling some dialogues/screenshots to get a definitive awnser on what's really going on with that guy. He's a mystery to me... Do feel free to ask anything!

how do i explain to non brazillians that theres a guy in the new season of a reality show who spent weeks rubbing his shirt in his girlfriends armpits just so he could sniff it while he was in the program. then started crying and this girl just pulls out the shirt for him to sniff and calm down. the last romantic on earth

hes like those incredibly perverted asexuals who have 0 interest in sex with people but are extremely fixated in one specific scenario. during that time leprosy was seem as a punishment to sexual deviants and lepers were known to be sexually agressive, two things he internalized.

the former because his shrine implies that he doesnt know where his leprosy comes from so him being a deviant (paraphiliac,) is to him, the reason why he caught leprosy. and the later is just one more excuse, more fuel for him to isolate/quarantine himself, obviously leprosy brings alot of other stereotypes too but him coming off as a sex pest is what weights more on his mind

and finally, paradoxically, leprosy is both a shield for himself and his burden. he can excuse himself out of any intimacy or relationship by blaming on his leprosy and gets even more anxious when someone corners him by stating that they dont mind (Sarmenti.....)

tl;dr to me (insane), the main reason why he isolates its not his leprosy but rather his paraphilia. i also kinda like to hc him with OCD so the intense paranoia that hes being watched, or that people *know* what hes up to, drives him even more to get away from others and refuse any sort of relationship

what hes into is... mostly irrelevant, its the concept and shame that having an incontrollable sexual urge does to someone's mental health and self steem because lets face it being horny when youre ugly is punishable by death. even more when youre into. i dont know. finding trebuchets incredibly erotic. or whatever weird kinks were going on at the time. and also. him being the only religious character without some sort of "guilt" towards anything bothered me. he and junia can join hands and scroll through E621 most popular tags together
