#one piece#nami#pawmot gholdengo and persian are in pokeballs & the rest are in premier balls#picked meowth bc cat burglar#it was a gift from bellemere (nojiko has an alolan one)#evolves into persian after arlong park#chose pawmi bc the colour and electric type suit nami imo#nami found pawmi curled up in the tangerine grove & mistook it for a weird tangerine#evolves into pawmot during alabasta (miss doublefinger fight)#gimmighoul bc nami loves gold & it helped her collect money to buy back her village#and the fact that gholdengo surfs and nami translates to wave... it just works#it was found around when arlong arrived#evolves into gholdengo after skypiea (bc of all the gold they get lol)#chose castform bc it's a lil weather dude. found at skypiea#altaria and driflbim are found on weatheria during the timeskip (as swablu and drifloon)#picked altaria bc the cloud motif suits nami (and it kinda reminds me of vivi loool)#i chose drifblim cuz it reminds me of one of the pkmn movies where a drifblim was being used as a weather balloon or somethin#and i feel like weatheria would have loads of drifloon living there#altaria can mega evolve by onigashima cuz nami steals a keystone from big mom (who has an alpha altaria) x#considered giving her a sableye bc it loves collecting gems#but she'd prob be a bit freaked out by it

#one piece#roronoa zoro#drew the first two pics nearly a year ago... burnout got my ass in 2025#excessive yap time#zoro uses dusk balls besides the gallade which is in a friend ball#chose sceptile bc leaf blade is its signature move & i just think it's neat#afaik we don't know specifics of zoro's childhood pre-dojo but ig treecko is from his parents?#evolves into sceptile at syrup village#zoro's first catch is the scyther bc he thinks it's so cool & he would be batshit enough to try catch something so aggressive#it evolves after water 7 (gets a metal coat from franky)#+ yes i chose shiny scizor purely because of the colour tehe#the ralts was kuina's#zoro evolves it into gallade after the mihawk fight in baratie (he found a dawn stone not long after meeting luffy)#reckon it can mega evolve during wano <:)#doublade bc c'mon. dude loves swords#it's found on thriller bark & evolves into aegislash during the timeskip#it never goes into shield forme btw. always blade forme. very zoro coded#haxorus just suits zoro imo (and he probably thinks it's cool)#fraxure was found as an axew on little garden#evolves into fraxure after thriller bark then into haxorus during timeskip#chose leafeon bc it evolves at the moss rock hehe#and i like the idea of zoro having a team of 'cool' and 'badass' pokemon and this one cute little guy#shows his softer side#maybe found it as an eevee during the return to sabaody#& evolved into leafeon at zou. looks like there'd be a moss rock in the forest there or smthn (ik it can use leaf stones too but still)#realised a lot of the reasoning is 'zoro thinks it's cool' which is pretty in-character tbh

#one piece#monkey d luffy#this was inevitable#op and pkmn are two of my big favs#i've had teams & lore for the crew and a bunch of other characters written down for years LOL#prepare for excessive yapping abt my reasoning for each guy#infernape = monkey come on#chimchar gifted by garp#evolves into infernape after arlong park#chose breloom bc its punches remind me of gum gum pistol.. stretchy arms (and it's a personal fav)#was found as a shroomish in the forest he grew up in#snorlax bc of its appetite & gum gum balloon ref. wanna say luffy's snorlax is more energetic than the average#munchlax was found tryin to steal food ofc and just never left#(pray for sanji being on a crew with luffy and snorlax lmao)#pinsir = luffy loves his bugs. found it on jaya#maybe it can mega evolve by wano as a power up or something idk#talonflame was inherited from ace after marineford. red hawk ref. it's kept in a cherish ball#grapploct bc it reminds me of gum gum gattling??? it can learn close combat sooo#he gets it around fishman island#surume ref :)#maybe there are other guys that'd suit luffy more but i wanted variation#like ambipom was tempting but infernape is already monki and is more fitting imo
