last year I wrote an email to my retirement fund company expressing concern and disappointment at their major investment percentage in Tesla and minor percentage investment in united health. never received a response from them and presumed they just ignored it.
they must have had enough contact about this as I just checked my kiwisaver portfolio for the first time since then (8 months ago) and the firm has completely divested from both Tesla and united health!
bad news is at least 16% of the total portfolio is companies directly or indirectly part of the AI bubble, so I guess i'll be writing another email.
the country's largest medical portal that connects clinics and store customer info has had a massive cyberbreach and they have not sent any email notifications or anything. I found out from the media. The company is refusing to state what has been stolen, and the government is trying to find out. 1 million kiwis use this portal, its super pushed by any gp you go to because of the convenience.
So, a bunch of my medical data, my contacts details, my login, all my personal identification details like birthdate, full name, national health number, my address, and much more has potentially been stolen.
You would think that after the hacking and ransom of hospital data here, the stealing and posting of naked photos and IDs from a mole map company, and all sorts, would have caused the public and private medical sector to stop using 2008 security coding but nope.
