So my last post died out. I'm not finna pretend that my backstory matters, because frankly half the time I truly feel that being Black and disabled ensures I get less views and shares and assistance, but there it is. I'm Black, nonbinary, disabled, and trying to survive. I wish I could work, but there's no jobs out there that I can actually do at the moment, that's why I'm in school.
My husband's car broke down while he was out of state for one of his freelance jobs. The transmission belt broke, but our car model apparently has a chain, so when it broke, it shattered, scattering metal everywhere inside the transmission. Forcing him to get the whole transmission replaced. 5200 dollars we didn't have.
He was stranded three days, which was more money, cuz he needed somewhere to stay and something to eat. It ate up all his money for Xmas presents and for groceries and he'll still be paying the bill off every month for a while.
We need groceries more than anything, and I'd like to get half the month's car bill as well. That's 400 for groceries and household stuff like toilet paper and cat litter, and 500 for the car. That damn transmission almost ruined Christmas, but my friends here and on mastodon and the kindness of strangers kept us from starving and having very little under the tree for our 9 year old. As it is, she is the one most affected by our lack of food and that sucks.
