Borrowers don't trust humans. They're big, clumsy and judgemental- and would definitely hurt you if given the chance.

So imagine your surprise when after you've been living successfully alone for the first time with a human in thier one bed apartment that when you get sick and haven't been able to borrow in a while...

There is a voice at your mouse hole.

"Hey uh...I know I'm probably not supposed to notice you and all but you haven't taken the Cheerios I left out for you like usual and I heard what sounded like coughing so...Are you alright? Can I get you some cold meds? Anything at all? I'm honestly worried, little buddy."

There is fear to begin with. How long had this bean known you were there?

And if so, how long had they played along and let you keep borrowing without interference?

You respond with a cough. You feel the floor shake as they get up and leave a moment, then watch a massive finger gently push a bottle cap full of water into the mouse hole.

"You sound awful, little guy. I know I'm probably horrifying to be around since I'm like bajillion times your size but seriously, let me know what I can do."

You don't ever verbally respond for the first while, but the human is persistent. They bring you carefully measured cough syrup, enough that you can take a bit and actually get some sleep. They bring warm tea, a few crumbs of their own dinner, even hot broth. The latest item is a teeny tiny plush toy frog and blanket, handmade with crude stitching. The blanket is so soft and the new toy a welcome friend.

"Thank you."

You say.

There is a pause, and you can hear the human shift.

"Any time." They reply.

The human sounds a bit flustered, like they might be blushing.

Is it weird for you to find a being big enough to hold you in the palm of their hand with room to spare kind of cute?

Sleepwalking gt

I don’t know if anybody has thought of this but just hear me out

Giants: Just terrifying to tinies. They’re already clumsy while being way too strong and fast for their own good when awake. Being unconscious would just amplify that to likely a horrifying degree. So, either they spook their tiny friend who just wanted to say hi, OR give borrowers a mini heart attack thinking they got caught, only to realize that the giant is thankfully just lwk trippin

Tinies: While a lot less destructive, it can be dangerous for themselves. Walking around in a place that has heights which could kill them is…not ideal, and even less so when unconscious. Best case scenario, they get caught and helped by a giant friend (maybe some comfort/fluff heheh). Some maybe not so ideal scenario’s are they get injured, they’re found by a giant that didn’t know of their existence (which would likely be very scary to wake up with a giant towering over you), they get lost, or they scare the shit out of a giant.

Living Weapon Whumpee, conditioned to see every person as either a handler or a threat, but they only ever met adults.

Suddenly, on a mission, they run into a kid. It’s certainly not a threat, the Weapon knows that. But what is it then? It must be… a handler then, right?

Weapon’s suspicions are confirmed when the kid orders them to come play. Well, who is Weapon to disobey a handler?

Meanwhile, their real handlers are sitting back in their headquarters, wondering where the fuck their weapon has gone.

like imagine being a literal faerie princess one minute, sipping dewdrops and dancing on rainbows, and the next, you’re in a terrarium being misted with a spray bottle

Listen to me okay? A tiny, pet, nonhuman whumpee can be abused online for clout.

Do you hear me? A tiny, pet, nonhuman whumpee can be taught tricks that hurt their body and put in cages that give them no privacy and become desperately dependent on the affection of a neglectful owner.

Do you get it? A tiny, pet, nonhuman whumpee can be recorded for youtube or tiktok or instagram videos where the owner shows the audience how much fun they're having while they're actively displaying a stress behavior.

Is this making sense??? And when the tiny, pet, nonhuman whumpee upsets the owner, they can be locked away in a bedside table drawer and left to scream and scream and scream but no one will ever hear them until they're pulled out!!! Alright?!?!?!?!?!?!

"look at me," villain says, snapping their fingers in hero's face. "I'm gonna get you out of here."

hero stares wearily back at villain and shakes their head, "no, no, no. you need to get out of here before superhero comes back."

So many royal whumpee things on my dash 💙 lemme contribute

Royal whumpee who wanted their kingdom to fall and gave away the weakness in the defenses to another kingdom. Whumpee expects to be spared any consequence from the conqueror, to be let free from the responsibilities of their position and fade away into obscurity.

Instead, the conqueror takes them captive. Insert any sort of treatment from their captors all the while vaunting them as a traitor. Why are you upset, darling? This is what you wanted, remember?

Living Weapon whumpee who treats the caretaker like theyre a new handler.

  • Expecting a punishment for everything they believe they've done wrong and getting really confused when there's none of it.
  • "Yes, sir/ma'am.", "I'm sorry, sir/ma'am."
  • Straightening their posture whenever caretaker sounds angry.
  • Treating every small suggestion and off handed comment caretaker makes as an order. "It's quite dirty in here." becomes "Clean up this mess, now."
  • Getting confused and scared at the lack of established rules and punishments. Every move could be the wrong one. Every action they make risks being hurt. They constantly wait for the other shoe to drop.
  • Proudly displaying their skill to their caretaker (by killing/harming someone?) only for caretaker to be horrified by what they've done.

characters raised to be tools

  1. Weapons. Trained, tested, forged in steel and fire. Failure is an inevitability that ends in death. Pain should not be felt--it should be recognized, familiar, and inconsequential
  2. Martyrs. In the form of servants and princes, of leaders and underdogs. If blood is necessary, the martyr will lift their hands and offer it all
  3. Shields. Like tempering a sword, but only to bear and not to lash out. Wounds are medals--not symbols of pride, but symbols of worth. A pretty shield is useless; scars mean a job well done
  4. Experiments. Raised on the cold comfort of a lab table. Restraints are only necessary when they're not in their right mind. Is it honorable, to be twisted beyond recognition? Or is it just a necessary evil?
  5. Monsters. Cruelty, caution, and regarding one as a creature beyond reasonable thought is tempering in its own right. But if you keep a leash at the right length, perhaps the massecre won't reach you. One can hope.
  6. Idols. Pretty face, pretty name, pretty hands around their shoulders and throat. There to seduce, manipulate, force any feeling to come to the surface and twist it to their favor. Any genuinity stays locked behind the guilded cage that surrounds their pretty little heart
  7. Trophies. Status and wealth and the traditions that keep someone at their heels, on their knees, to display and serve and decorate one's ballroom.
  8. Sacrifices. Drenched in honorable clothes, prepared and adored and cleansed. The gift of hope at the cost of one's life. Is it taken with no fight? How can you escape the ropes you were born in?
