Summary:  

Dean Winchester and Castiel Shurley graduated high school together, way back in ‘02. They smoked pot together once, and Dean jokingly agreed to marry Cas if they were still single at 30. They were hardly friends, though—maybe casual acquaintances at best.

Twenty-four years later, they've long since forgotten about each other and settled into comfortable lives on opposite sides of the country. But a chance meeting when Cas rolls into Dean’s shop while on a long-haul motorcycle ride has them both wondering... What if they were onto something when they made that marriage pact all those years ago?

Excerpt: 

Dean’s not used to bikers rolling through town looking hot. He loves ‘em, don’t get him wrong, and he’s hooked up with the occasional smoke show on a chopper. (Benny springs immediately to mind—always down for a ride, pardon the double entendre, when he’s passing through town.) But on the whole, the biker set that events like this attracted tended to be on the crustier, more grizzled, rode-hard-and-put-away-wet side.

He doesn’t notice the guy’s eyes until they’re locked with his own—and they’re a bright, near electric blue that’s… familiar, almost?

But he can’t place them.

“Winchester, I’m guessing?” the man says, eyes flicking up briefly to the Winchester Auto & Motorcycle sign. His voice is low and rumbly like the dirt road that cuts up the mountain to Bobby’s place. Dean gives one short nod.

“You know, I went to high school with a Winchester. Not a common name.”

The man’s eyes flick back to him, and he studies Dean’s face for a long few seconds. The intense blue of the guy’s eyes on him makes Dean feel a bit like an exposed nerve. He watches the man’s head tilt slowly to the side, questioning.

“Dean?” he asks, finally. “Is that you?”

Recognition hits Dean like a freight train.

Bright blue eyes.

Dark hair, almost black.

Chapped lips.

Slim fingers with a cigarette between them—only, back then, it would have been a joint.

“Cas?”

The man smiles wide. Handsome. “In the flesh.”

Castiel Shurley has aged… well. He is not a skinny, perpetually-stoned weirdo anymore, that’s for damn sure.

one of my moots on twt wanted some butchfemme destiel, but Cas is the butch and Dean is the femme! <3

im trying to come up with avian!cas designs and headcanons so i can write non-sexualized wing stuff (nothing against sexy wing stuff but i think there isnt enough platonic wing stuff for my avian loving asexual heart) with bird feet because i adore the concept of humanized birds

falcons, due to their domestication for hunting, kind of give attack dog vibes in the way that they can be sicked on a target and early season cas also gives that vibe for me, later season cas gives more of crow vibes but I want to do something different than the usual black iridescent wings (personally I prefer the right one)

also, during the show cas later becomes kinda buff and seriously idk how that happened, but i think a well trained avian would be kinda dancer- or runner-style muscular especially because muscles weigh a lot and theyre supposed to fly

the wings might need to be 50% longer I will come back to that rn im just amazed by the way i made a more realistic head-body-ratio than my usual bean style like look at that its almost realistic for my standards i even kinda got his hair right wtf

2025: Year in Review

Once again, I have continued to be unwell about Dean and Cas all year. Thank you to everyone who read, kudos'd and commented on any of the fics below, or on my artist collaborators' amazing work. I really appreciate your support!

A Haunting (36,116 words)

Summary: Chuck is gone, Jack is dead, and Cas has left the bunker. All that remains for Dean is hunting, but even that backfires when he’s hit by a witch’s curse. The curse has him traveling through Cas’ past, doomed to witness his worst moments without being able to help.

By sheer luck, Dean finds a way to communicate with Cas, leaving him notes across time in an effort to make up for past mistakes and let Cas know he’s loved and valued. But will it be enough to change things for the better between them and end the curse that’s keeping Dean trapped?

Have You Tried Turning Santa's Workshop Off and On Again? (WIP, still posting)

Summary: Dean is an elf in Santa's workshop, and he's not very good at it. Is it really his fault though if the gift assignments made by the workshop's new AI are so consistently awful? No wonder he's not meeting his quotas.

Unfortunately, the higher-ups don't see it his way. Dean gets demoted to the very bottom of the rung, the mailroom, where he soon discovers that things at Santa's workshop are even worse than he thought. With the help of his friend Charlie, his slightly uptight brother Sam and five-time Elf of the Year Castiel Novak, Dean brings to light a conspiracy that threatens the integrity of Christmas itself.

Oh, and if he's lucky, he'll get to hook up with Cas along the way.
