I think she may have some level of internalised misogyny (expected tbh given the era she lived in) and she would literally do anything to feel loved and desired by her "Prince Charming". If we really want her to grow, she needs to break this perspective. Either by going against what was deemed normal from a "perfect lady" and allowing herself to fall in love with a woman (I'm also an internalised homophobia Ada truther) or by ending up with nobody at all.
