Her name wat StrikerFire or something similar, right? Since her name reminds for firing, like a gun, and striker, like a weapon to strike with, you could go for a orange/white/grey color scheme, or a grey/silver/gold color scheme going off of these photos
Thank you google. If she was a racer, you could always look at race cars and get an idea of what they look like. And since a lot of racecars have a custom paintjob with like flames, or checkers, etc, you could add that on art you create of your character bc ik you can't really do that on the picrew.
If she was a scientist, you could look at any chemical and use that, or maybe use colors you'd find in a lab.
And maybe what caused her to change her colors if she was a racer was that she was looking for a more fashionable appearance, or she got in a devastating crash and when she woke up, most of her metal was grey because the paint got scraped off or part of her frame had to be replaced entirely.
