Im making a story, and im making one of the characters trans and I would like to know what to include. I've already done tones of research, but I was wondering if there are certain things I need to include 😅
i dont want to be mean but the trans experience isnt a monolith i dont even know if you mean ftm or mtf or non binary or anything across the spectrum - what sounds absurd to ask cisgender people sounds just as absurd to ask to us
there is no guidelines to transidentity, and i dont like the idea of describing the "concept" of us, that would not be a person but a a pile of clichés seen from only one perspective.
there is no handbook to being trans, there is no check list to what make us trans. and in today political context more than ever, i do not want to give that kind of informations.
my trans experience is mine and unique to me, and sharing it it for me a way to connect with people like me, it is not universal. i dont know more about being transgender because of my silly ms paint drawings
i have been interviewed about transidentity and queerness in the context of superhero stories, sharing my thoughts isnt the issue. but i find offense in the idea of wrapping up my identity as a person in digestible little package to transform into a fictional character
