With Fate/Strange Fake’s anime adaptation finally airing weekly, a lot of people have been wondering, “Is this a good jumping-on point for someone completely new to the series?” If you’ve been eyeballing the series for a while but didn’t know where to start, I’ve prepared an easy list for you:

Critic praising Trails Beyond the Horizon for “copying” the blend of real time and turn-based action from Metaphor: ReFantazio when Trails did it first in Trails Through Daybreak 1 and THEN Metaphor had it is kinda driving me a little crazy. Bizarre instance where because the games came out on a delay in English, the mechanic gets attributed to a game that did it AFTER, but was out in English first

It's really funny if you know Metaphor just nicked it from Trails because the marketing for that game was like "we really studied hard to determine the core of what an RPG is" and what they came up with is Modern Persona, but with Press Turns, but with Trails Real-Time/Turn-Based Combat like.

Like, even being charitable of them basically just doing a “greatest hits” take on their standard formula, it’s more the critic phrasing it “the realtime/turn-based combat builds on what Metaphor established” like THAT’S WRONG!! That is literally incorrect!!

It’s the equivalent of telling a really good joke to your friends, but it’s too quiet so no one hears it, and then the guy to the left says it AGAIN five minutes later, and everyone LOVES it.

A Fire Emblem 4 with modern production values would be fucking insane because they'd punctuate Eldigan's return and Quan + Ethlyn getting jumped in the desert, with 3D cinematics.

Quan and Ethlyn manage to survive the encounter and a poster advertising Stamp the Dog flies past the camera to let you know the worldlines have diverged.
