saw someone say that they don't read fics under 10k and had to laugh because more fool you, that is where all the bangers are. obviously I'm biased but truly nothing hits like a 1.5k fic with a lowercase title from some obscure poet where nothing actually happens and yet you emerge blinking with a completely new outlook on the character. infinitely rereadable. like a perfectly crafted pastry. I'm gobbling them up!

also, people say this all the time but it bears repeating, now that we know why GP has been upset and struggling people should be understanding but they should've been before that too, right. you don't need to know why someone is crying or emotional or having to take time off to support them.

my top favourite moments from this year's secret santa:

  • alex saying drivers aren't book people -- "we're ipad kids"
  • also him saying the driver had to be someone old and that strat working. great
  • I agree that recipe books that have no pictures are fucked up and evil though
  • nico getting fernando the cane is elder on elder hate crime
  • I am obsessed by charles trolling george w that picture
  • how on earth is charles shocked it's from pierre it said calamar
  • both mercedes drivers are totally cheating by using their adidas sponsorships
  • (although kimi went super overboard and even got something for pierre's dog so i forgive him)
  • love learning lando had a giant poster of alex in his room for 10 years, what a fan boy. not sure I agree him having his helmet on makes it less creepy
  • I think it should be mandatory to give franco art supplies every year he had nothing to build on for a bit πŸ˜”
  • esteban continuing to get wonderful gifts!! i know he's easy to gift but a spiderman RC car is perfect. well done oscar :D
  • leaving the name on oscar's gift was so funny way to defeat the whole game

"there has been a huge step i think in the case of women, the level of representation, of opportunities and else. of course, it’s hard and i think for example in my case, i had to live through a ton of hard situations for being latin american (...) obviously being a woman adds more to it.

now there are huge steps, i think, towards opening doors for women in motorsport (...) the f1 academy i think is one of the biggest possibilities, to be part of a formula 1 team and obviously, getting to race. but yes, it’s been hard. i can imagine so because i also see it, not only with female drivers but also with women that work in the motorsport industry, women that want to be engineers, because there is always discrimination and that men "should be" the engineer. (...) then i think that it’s always hard.

women have gone thought hard times, and obviously, i not only believe it but i have seen it, so... it’s a pleasure to see that the doors are opening. it’s becoming clearer what women can achieve, racing fast, hopefully we can see a woman in f1. i know that physically it’s challenging (...) but it seems like it’s getting better for them to have more opportunities. it'd be a pleasure to see them race more frecuently with us in f2, in f3. i think the f1 academy is making a huge step. hopefully, it continues like that"
