Power Ranger System

@powerrangersystem / powerrangersystem.tumblr.com

Power Ranger System Tumblr of the Power Ranger System. System general name is Rey. Body is 36 years old.

Medically recognized DID system.

Body age is 37 years old. Co-host (Bruno) is nonbinary male, he/him pronouns, bisexual and Blaze (other co-host) is trans male, he/him pronouns, gay. Those are the two most likely to be active here.

We are all autistic and multiply neurodivergent, chronically ill, and disabled.

Let me know if I've followed you and you would rather me not do that.

We are called the Power Ranger System because power rangers were the first show we loved as children and they work together as a team with roles, so it seemed fitting. We also happen to have an Alpha introject, so that seemed fitting too.

Alternate system name is ReyVen System.

Blaze has started a sideblog for his special interest, space. It can be found here.

Hello again! This is an illustration of Fizz I did in November of 2023. I was particularly proud of the forms! I didn't have the courage to colour it though : ( The pose and perspective were really hard! I had to use a drawing mannequin for reference haha! Here are my developmental sketches:

So, I know I don't post much personal stuff on here, but things have been a little much lately and I want to talk about it and maybe see if anyone has any advice.

I just got diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder. I became paralyzed on my left side for 48 hours and still don't have full strength back. I can't walk properly. I have a jerk in my left arm and my head also jerks and drops. I went into urinary retention at the hospital and had to be cathed. And I had a psychogenic non-epileptic seizure on Saturday.

Does anyone have any advice for someone new to this diagnosis?

I'm currently doing PT and just got evaluated by OT. I'm seeing a neurologist soon. And I have three separate therapists all working with me. One has consulted with an expert on FND and Dissociative disorders, so that has been very helpful.

But I'm worried all the time. So many what ifs. I don't know what my future looks like now and that scares me.

Also, does anyone know anything about DID and it's connection to FND? The therapist made it seem like they were very very connected, so it has me wondering.

As someone in and around their 30’s it has been INSANE to see feminism in popular media descend through

  1. Women can wear pants and play sports and that’s equality. Women don’t just belong inside the house. This woman has a career
  2. This woman can be a mechanic just like a man could. She’s probably still a lesbian, though, which is basically the closest to a man a woman can *be*, and explains everything. But she’s still a person!
  3. If a woman superhero CHOOSES to wear stilettos to fight crime, that’s girl power! This comic character written and designed by men wears a bikini and has a waist size of 12 inches because it makes her FEEL POWERFUL! Girls don’t HAVE to dress boyish to be strong! She can make you a sandwich AND be a feminist! Girl power!
  4. What, are you saying women HAVE to do boy things to be taken seriously? Who are you to tell a woman what to do? Maybe some women NEED to get their hair and nails done twice a month to feel powerful! Maybe a lot of women WANT to be stay-at-home moms!
  5. What I don’t think you understand is that women have an inherent feminine spirituality which guides them towards maternal and nurturing paths. Women need to honour their divine female aura to keep their. Their fuckin. Their chakras together or some shit. You should put quartz up your hooha and huff wheatgrass. Leaving manual labour and science and technology to men is natural and good for you spiritually
  6. Uh she can’t do that, that’s a blue job, she’s a pink job girly. Food? Yeah, she’s having #girl dinner, which is a handful of almonds. Time for our 15 step skincare routine, which is empowering. Hashtag #girlboss. Ew no, touching dirt? She’s just a girl. You can’t expect a girl to do that. Haha #girl logic

the most disorienting thing thats ever happened to me was when a linguistics major stopped in the middle of our conversation, looked me in the eye, and said, "you have a very interesting vernacular. were you on tumblr in 2014?" and i had to just stand there and process that one for a good ten seconds

it is one thing to be a linguist and another to be a linguist who knows enough of 2010s Tumblr to spot one of its enjoyers

Oh! @meret118 see above comment! The use of the word "enjoyers" instead of "users" or "bloggers" -> You left a comment a while back asking, "Does this just mean vocabulary words? Other than blorbo and sweet cinnamon roll etc, I can't think of what a Tumblr accent would be." I almost never see anyone use the word "enjoyer" anywhere outside of tumblr, but I see it on tumblr fairly frequently.

Another one is the verb "perceive" i.e. "don't perceive me" "I am perceiving" "I am being percieved." That's something that feels very specific to tumblr parlance.

There's the thing where people on tumblr have an emotional reaction to something and instead of, or in addition to telling you how they feel about it using emotion words, they will narrate a fictional action in the present progressive tense. "I am gnawing at the bars of my enclosure "I am kissing you on the mouth" "you are going into the soup" "you are getting all of the awards"

I once saw someone use that response format in ... I think it was a restaurant review, or a doordash review, or something like that. It was very unexpected seeing it outside of a tumblr post.

There are a lot of other tumblr linguistic quirks I can't currently remember off the top of my head, but I'll instantly recognize them if I see/hear them outside of tumblr. It's always a bit startling to see them out of context.

An aquarium in Japan was closed for renovations, and their resident sunfish got depressed not seeing visitors. So the staff put some uniforms with printed faces against the tank, and it immediately recovered.

Sweet Dreams - Rora Blue

2020.

“Sweet Dreams explores the intricacies of everyday ableism and everyday ableist comments. Some of the comments recount dialogue said to the artist. Other phrases were submitted by other disabled and/or chronically ill individuals as documentation of comments that have been said to them. Through using recognizable objects associated with disability in correlation with playful colors, Sweet Dreams aims to reclaim objects commonly associated with pain and disrupt the narrative on what it means to be disabled.”

when i was 12 i babysat this girl for a few years and she would come to me and show me her art, drag me by my wrists and point at the pieces she’d made during the week. and she’d be like “do the voice” and i’d put on a sports-announcer olympics-style voice and be like “such form! this level of coloring! why i haven’t seen such perfection in crayola in a long time. and what is this? why jeff, now this is a true risk… it seems she’s made … a monochrome pink canvas…. i haven’t seen this attempted since winter 1932… and i gotta say, jeff, it’s absolutely splendid”  and she’d fall back giggling. at the end of every night she’d check with me: “did you really like it?” and i’d say yes and talk about something i noticed and tucked her in.

she was just accepted into 3 major art schools. she wrote me a letter. inside was a picture from when she was younger. monochrome pink.

“thank you,” it said, “to somebody who saw the best in me.”

I am sure I’ve reblogged this before. It’s so cute, I have to reblog it again.

enraptured by this Reddit sub called Somnigastronomy where people post about weird food they’ve seen in their dreams (and sometimes try to replicate for real)
