i remember seeing a post being like "when trans men say theyre "men because theyre trans" its really telling that they see themselves as women who transitioned to men" and thats crazy cause like. yeah that's kinda what happened. i grew up a girl and then realized i wasnt one so i transitioned to male and now im a man because im trans. like i understand the (stupid, disingenuous) point youre trying to make but like yeah thats kind of how being transgender works

Plus, some people genuinely WERE women who transitioned into men. People who 100% identified as cis women, and then at some point in their life, that changed. Because gender is fluid and messy, it isn't always static and everyone experiences it differently.

This isn't the case for me, I remember genuinely believing I was a boy the second I had a concept of gender and was confused and upset by the societal constraints, but I respect people who this is the case for because that's what it ACTUALLY means to support all trans people. Any less is just transmedicalism, "brain gender" rhetoric and exorsexism.

This is another reason why the "kill all men" people will always be transphobic. There are people who describe 100% identifying as men without dysphoria and then that changed at some point and they became women. Sometimes not in a binary way and still identify as men in some capacity. If you can't accept those people as trans and admonish them for having a masculine identity alongside a transfeminine identity or for feeling a fondness for their past as a man, you are transphobic. You need to unlearn gender essentialism and learn to treat people who are literally just existing as an identity as neutral ways of existing if they're not actively causing harm as a result of it.
