I feel like I have an idea, but…
In the Au there are two realities or different futures, the au is very much kanamafu and mizuena kdfjkf
one where kanade and ena work to save mafuyu and mizuki
and where mizuki and mafuyu have to save ena and kanade
I like to think about how they would deal with their grief as they fight for the wonder egg girls, also (spoilers for WEP anime), in the same way Ai finds herself as a Wonder Egg Girl I think of a scene where all 4 of them would encounter each other and have trouble coming back from the dream, not wanting to wake up

In both realities, the remaining half of the mysterious music group fights with the promise to save the one they love.
Kanade and Ena fight to save as many of those girls as they can
Mafuyu and Mizuki... do everything to remain busy in their pursuit
And they hope, one day, the wish of the Wonder Egg will bring them back
She is getting warmer...
Deep in her despair
