Huge News everyone

I'll eventually have the bandwidth to have things places that aren't redbubble, but for now if you want any prints/stickers you can check that shop out :) Link to my Redbubble Shop

IF you want a mug with a funky little dissociating girl, stickers with weird little guy who just wants to go home, or a sticker that expresses the weird feelings you have for a particularly specific creative endeavor, oh boy do I have some news for you!!!

OR if you like other things (like mouse with quarterstaff or dragon) you can check these guys out

do you ever sit there in your bed with your head in your hands and it's like you can just imagine 9 swords behind you

people who are just finding out about internet tracking and data mining in the year 2025 and that your special robot friend does not respect your privacy lol

I often refer to my bottle-raised lamb as my adopted daughter, because it’s mostly true, it temporarily keeps nosy strangers from knowing I’m an eeeevil childfree woman, and it’s hilarious when people find out. And by that time they’re usually too disturbed by the “her-daughter-is-a-sheep” thing to get on my case about the “woman-with-no-husband-or-kids-oh-the-horror” thing.

Most of my friends are aware that I do this, and will back me up in conversations without batting an eye when I reference my daughter. And the best part is that they literally never drop the story. They just 100% all the time accept that I have a two-year-old adopted daughter. The fact that she happens to be a sheep is an unimportant detail, not worth mentioning until an anecdote gets too weird to plausibly be about a human toddler.

Which actually takes much longer than you’d think, since human toddlers apparently have absolutely zero sense. “She bites if you stop paying attention to her” is believable, “she tries to eat rocks out of the landscaping” is believable, “she stuck her head through a fence and couldn’t get out” is believable. “She jumped a five foot fence and came screaming back into the house through the dog door when I left her outside in the pasture” does get some strange looks, though usually not for the right reason.

Occasionally the joke gets turned around on me, though. I posted a picture on my not-tumblr blog of her wearing my glasses, and every comment was “Oh my gosh she looks just like you!!!” “I would never have known she was adopted If you hadn’t told me!!” “Are you sure that’s not an old picture of you?!”

So apparently this is what I look like:

At least she does look cute in glasses.

glad that much of the conversation I've seen on here about Renee Good contextualizes her death within the rampant killing of people (especially Black, immigrant, and indigenous people) by ICE, police, and other armed actors of the state going back literally the entire existence of the US, with particular attention to the very recent deaths that were less reported due to a combination of being racialized victims and not having clear footage that fascists could circulate as titillating snuff film propaganda.

surprised that I haven't seen anyone mention that Renee Good is a lesbian, or that her butch partner was present during the murder, and the role that gender is playing in this particular moment of rallying the far right. it took me until a couple days ago to even learn that, actually, or that fascists are using AI to 'undress' Good in order to symbolically use her body as a sex object--creating a public show of the "bitch" forcibly brought back into patriarchy through death and sexual violence.

the racial and gendered politics of why her killing is hypervisible in the news cycle are deeply interrelated, imo. the white nationalist project that seeks the simultaneous expulsion and torture of racialized subjects is the very same whose anxieties around "white birth rates" has animated legislation to escalate the restriction of healthcare that impacts sexed characteristics (abortion, gender affirming care, puberty blockers, etc) and target populations acting against sexgender assignment.

lesbianism among those assigned female at birth has largely been assimilated within the cisgender class for the last 50 years or so (excepting those of us who outright reject assignment and/or pursue the medical changing of sexed traits, who are still transsexualized), but imo what we're seeing is that, within this far right movement that is obsessed with controlling birth within patriarchal marriage, a cis lesbian's death can stand in for a larger propaganda of the rightful punishment for the rejection of sex assignment (which is implicitly understood to threaten the white nationalist project).

Laura Loomer posted shortly after her death calling Good a “communist carpet-muncher.” They are gleeful at the prospect of murdering lesbians, regardless of perceived respectability. The “carpet-muncher” becomes disposable, subhuman, degenerate.

I don’t disagree with any of that but Renee Good was bisexual (she had two ex husbands) which has been actively erased by even progressive media. It would be nice if we could all acknowledge it instead of erasing it within the community. It doesn’t even require to change any other word in the post because everything that was said applies to bisexual women as well.

my apologies, it must have been reported wrong where I saw it. agree that it still all very much applies

They’re being incredibly blatant about the sexual politics of Good’s murder. Also, I absolutely agree that op’s analysis applies equally well to bisexual women (and that biphobic violence is frequently erased) but for what it’s worth I also have two ex-husbands and am very much a lesbian, so I think unless Good talked about herself as such we probably just don’t know.

mold pisses me off so much

oh you have to eat your produce the moment it leaves the store or the fuckin Hungering Dust will get it. and. poison your food

I ran into this post years ago and to be honest, it has completely reoriented the way I engage with food.

Like. I’ve always sorta understood that things grow moldy or stale or sour or such if left out, but I never really internalized it in a meaningful way.

But now I’m just like.

Yeah. The hungering dust. There exists omnivorous dust in the air that will eat my food if I don’t.

Those bagels have been sitting there for a week. Are we going to eat them soon or are we leaving them for the hungering dust?

Pizza’s been sitting out on the counter for an hour. Everyone’s enjoying the pizza, but if we don’t want “everyone” to include the hungering dust then we should probably put it away soon.

That’s just. That’s how food works to me now. There exists an invisible predator in the air that hungers for your yummies, and it will not hesitate to eat your food if you don’t make the effort to protect and preserve it. And eat what can’t be preserved before the dust can.

Life-changing.
