Vampire AU | Behind closed doors, secrets rot.
Thana exhaled deeply in quiet meditation. Feeling the soft thumping beat of life ahead of her despite it closed off from the world but it offered her grounding and peace. She hadn’t wished to bath in the water’s in front either. She was here not to connect with Maya, but her presence here was enough to settle her mind in her meditation.
Her ears twitched a little, as the door opened and the scent of Henry filtered in before he stepped across the threshold and held it open for Ulysses who shut the door swiftly after him. Her eyes opened, turning to watch the human’s approach. His eyes looked past her to Maya, looking rightfully intimidated by her presence.
“I can never forget how beautiful that is.” Henry remarked.
Maya was no person or thing. As of the moment, it was a nurtured sapling taken off the mother tree about forty-years ago and reached about two metres in height with a vast water-root. It’s orginal seeds that had followed their vampire kind since the start and their kinds dabbling into organic technology had unlocked the Mother tree’s potential to aid their kind in the following millennia’s since.
Maya was a near white weeping willow tree, the trunk pale as chalk with delicate blue hues and almost smooth if it wasn’t for the closed carved-likened eyes and mouth set into its trunk. Maya’s face not yet fully formed and the blue-ish sap leaked a little from these forming openings. It would take until the sapling was nature to show a completed face. The willow branches were small, not yet brushing the pools beneath, the leaves weren’t soft, and they were rough to touch and held a crystalline nature to their cell structure which made their natural growth very slow growing.
