watching 20 year old tv shows is all fun and games until you realize how far we’ve backslid on certain social issues
Got sad thinking about how Lex only knows conditional love set to a standard that he can never achieve and then got hit with the realization that Clark is the same ... Clark cannot give Lex the all-consuming and forgiving love he wants (and that would be bad! Lex needs someone who loves him while still reigning him in on his worst tendencies), because Clark was raised to believe that if you don't act or think a certain way, you're evil.
More insane to think that Lex is much the same as Clark! He wants Clark to be his own personal all-forgiving savior who will never lie to him and always pat his head and believe in his inherent capacity for goodness... but Clark cannot be that. Because it's something impossible to be, and Clark is also a teenager with a whooooole set of problems going for him, he cannot always be rational, in fact, his continuous choice of staying friends with Lex despite what everyone says is irrational in nature

yk the equivalent of "im totally straight but im only gay for This one guy" trope? that is clois to me. in the opposite way of course but. clark kent is gay to me (ESPECIALLY in smallville). he is the ultimate comphet home of sexual. but lois can be the exception. cuz thats lois lane baby
I love tragedy I'm sorry I love the fact that SV Clark has to fight Lex and look at the face of someone who once upon a time was his closest friend. The other half of his soul. I love the fact that Lex doesn't remember him I love the fact that Clark will always wonder if Lex's Superman hate-obsession is all that remains of what they once had in Lex's subconscious. Love love love.

the fundraiser for Renée Macklin Good’s family has well surpassed its goal and is now closed — if you want to help Minneapolis residents as the city is terrorized by ICE raids, please turn your attention toward this fundraiser for local families, as well as Adelina Olivarez Cardona and Arturo Sanchez Chinos, both of whom are currently being detained.
additionally, you can support the family of keith porter jr, who was shot and killed by an off duty ICE agent on new years
