People have admitted to all of the above. People have admitted to lying about the content of their fic, deceiving readers, and omitting necessary tags for the point of increasing readership. Knock that shit off. Writers and artists are already struggling with readers viewing works as only content to be casually consumed and used up. We don't need writers treating themselves like influencers and their works like "content" to be peddled. Don't abuse tags and don't abuse readers. It makes the entire tag system useless when you do this shit.

ICE shot and killed a blonde haired blue eyed white lady for no reason, literally just shot that woman in the face and I really thought I’d be seeing more white people mad about it because you know whenever one of their own gets got by the system they put in place they always have something to say or use it to overshadow a black persons death, like the black man who got shot and killed by ICE a few days ago, Keith Porter.

But no. They’re all saying “She should’ve complied with orders” and like when they’re even saying one of their own deserved it, that’s when you know we’re too far gone.

But also, yes, because Porter was Black.

(Potentially hopeful note: so far, courts across the country have consistently found that ICE has zero jurisdiction over US citizens, so the ICE agent’s claim that he’s in the clear because he was an “off-duty officer” is very much unclear since Porter was indisputably a US citizen. There might actually be some justice to be had if the court considers this to be a dispute between neighbors and not LEO vs citizen.)

My community has never fully healed from the murder of George Floyd. I was there-- I stayed up all night with my neighbors and local businesses. Because outsiders were coming and burning buildings. Not our community members-- nazis coming to stir up shit. We learned to organize to keep each other safe.

Now Renee Good was murdered in that same neighborhood. We're organized this time. It didn't matter. More nazis-- call them what they are. But we have multiple videos instead of one. Because we learned they will lie, even with evidence.

I have faith we will find the murderer and prosecute. It doesn't mean we will heal. It means we'll learn, once again, that we can only rely on our neighbors. ALL of our neighbors, no matter their race or citizenship.

ICE murdered a woman in Minneapolis today. Her name was Renee Good.

Renee Good was a queer white woman, a mother and a wife. She was a US citizen. But too many stories are making sure to include the details of her citizenship first and foremost, even before her name,as if it makes a difference, as if it would have been more understandable or more acceptable if the woman that ICE murdered was an immigrant, documented or otherwise. As if her citizenship should provoke us to a higher level of outrage. 

Of course it makes absolutely no difference whatsoever.

When you talk about the death of Renee Good, talk about her by her name. Talk about her courage in being a bystander interventionist and observer of the lawless behavior of the armed agents engaging in an ethnic cleansing campaign in our country. Talk about her family that is left behind after this wanton act of murder. Talk about her as a role model and inspiration for all of us.

But don't talk about Renee Good as a US citizen. It doesn't matter. It's beneath mention. 

I haven’t been on this app in a while, but I know a Black man, Keith Porter, was murdered by ICE on New Year’s Eve (Rest in Power) in Cali. Just one of the countless Black people who’ve been murdered by ICE and other agents of the state.

Shit has BEEN happening to Black people across administrations and is currently happening to Black people under this administration, and is met by crickets. Yet when it starts touching white people, I see real anger start being felt from the gen pop followed by amplification and co-opting of Black terms and memorialization… I stg it takes everything in me to give af about yall.

Nothing has been publicly revealed about the woman other than she’s described as middle aged and white. No name or photos given.
