i often forget otis even has yveltal bc he doesn't actually use it on his team. like he just lets that thing free roam around lumiose. the only reason he "owns" it is to make sure it doesn't cause a mass casualty event. most of his interaction with it is when it decides to roost on hotel z's roof. maybe it decides to help him every now and then.

...and perhaps it starts hanging out on the roof more in s2 as otis pushes himself way too hard looking for amaretto. with it being associated with death and dying and all.
