I am not kidding when I say this absolutely floored me I mean the CHILLS I got up my spine like I could not fucking believe that this was my fic that inspired such an INSANE piece of artwork??? Like it is still so surreal I look at this and I get all teary I'm emotional and not suited for this harsh world someone please hold me.
This is honestly like...this took me forever to reblog because I was like how do I even articulate how much this means to me and how COOL it is? I don't think I have the WORDS. It is such a powerful way to experience this fic I mean oh my god this is a whole TRAILER for Act 1 like this is... it's just insane. I often don't feel very confident in my writing, or I downplay it, or think I could never actually BE a real writer out in the world. But then people like Anti come along and create such POWEFUL things, spending their free time and blood sweat and tears into making something special based on my words and that truly like touches me in a way that I don't know how to express that shit makes me want to keep GOING in the world, you know? Life is hard but sometimes we get to create together and that's really special.
YOU, ANTI, are going to go far in this animation world I sincerely hope you keep doing it and try to make a career out of it because you have real fucking talent and everyone should see it.
I really don't have the words. I mean I clearly do because I've been babbling on. But what I do have is a LOT to say about this trailer so I've picked out some of my favorite moments to yap about below.
- From the very beginning when we see that shot of the TCRI guy and the cameras which serves as like the introduction and flashes the warnings-- like right away I was like oh this is about to be fucking. serious. Like what a creative way to open this!
- I'm gonna have to stop myself from going shot by shot but like the way it opens on the town, just bein a town. doing town stuff. the boys in school.
- the shot of april with her FLASH LIGHT
- the CANDLE???? the CANDLE ANIMATION GUYS??? I was like what the fuck am I watching right now this is professional this is insanity it's so good if you watch nothing else in this video go to 1:24 and witness the CANDLE.
- The shots you've chosen to include are so smart it really shows a mind for scene setting and cinematography and editing like that shot of the alarm is so simple but it hit me HARD I was like woof here we go.
- The over-the-head shot of the boys in the Gulpin' Gas walking down the aisle? Such a cool perspective I loved that shot.
- The moment of silence before the Ringer like holy hell that was SO good you really aced this like building of tension it was so precise.
- sidebar but the shot of them looking out the window? how cute was that? I know they're stressed but their little faces. I love them.
- Casey hugging Riley will forever haunt me
- Their dad's expression, the running back, you've done the integration of moving back and forth between what we learn in April's chapter to what the boys have experienced so well it's UGH.
- Raph in the TUBES my CHILLS they were back god when that face popped up I was like lord I ain't ready. And I wrote the damn thing.
- That lightsaber scene? So? Cool? What a cool shot to include and such a badass angle like I'm sweating.
- the way the music starts to build up when we see that shot of Rise Donnie just really like, cuts me. I can't explain it but that's how you know man the alignment of that moment POPPED.
- the deer ugh the DEER the stumbling it was so creepy it was so accurate
- I love that circle around of all of them together and then this pan out to New York i was breathless.
Okay I didn't talk about EVERYTHING see? Just...most things...i can't help it this is so incredible and I'm sorry everyone is just gonna have to deal with my thoughts on their dash. I'm in awe. This made me cry.
