fun fact if you draw all your text posts with little stick figures or something under them you instantly become a comic artist

if it counts for xkcd it does for you, try it! :D

It can't possibly be that simple! Right?

Me when I'm old as fuck and my grandkids talk to me: this reminds me of a post. I gotta go find the post

Grandkids: grandpa sit down you don't need to show us a post

Me: (not listening) Now where was that post....

my corner store guy is a 50 year old man who's my best friend in the world and recently he was like "you're too pretty to be single I have some nephews you should meet. very handsome!" and I was like "a niece might be more up my alley" and he just got more excited and said "ah even better! I was overselling my nephews but my nieces are very beautiful"

OP the tags!!

I'm going to make a big ask, I would really appreciate if as the gift for my upcoming birthday I could stock up on the medicines I can stock up on. This would be HRT and narcolepsy meds. I've been trying to get back on them but bills keep getting in the way. I'm a disabled trans woman and one of the moms of @rickybabyboy if it helps.

Venmo: AGIEF

Ko-fi:

By using antibodies from a human donor with a self-induced hyper-immunity to snake venom, scientists have developed the most broadly effective antivenom to date, which is protective against the likes of the black mamba, king cobra, and tiger snakes in mouse trials. Described in the journal Cell, the antivenom combines protective antibodies and a small molecule inhibitor and opens a path toward a universal antiserum.

Ok, that’s fucking wild.

This guy Tim Friede wasn’t any kind of researcher or doctor. He was just a snake collector who thought it would be cool to try and become immune to snake venom by injecting small amounts and working up. For 18 goddamn years. He nearly died at least once.

Later, actual scientists heard about him and realized that since he survived his blood must be full of antibodies that neutralize many kinds of snake venoms. Using a sample of his blood they were able to develop an antibody cocktail that seems to be effective against many types of tropical snake bites, a sort of universal antivenom.

Absolute mad lad benefiting humanity.
