tomgreg is SOOO fucking crazy because what do you mean he controls him to make up for the complete lack of control in his life. what do you mean greg tries to move to a different department and tom screams and cries, demanding to keep what is his while he watches his wife with a tight smile, promises whatever shes doing is okay, they'll talk about it later. desperate to keep what he wants through submission, reveling and outright needing greg to submit to him, to reclaim power he feels robbed of. greg is the only person he can be honest with, but that comes at the cost of being at the end of his hand, the victim of the worst of him
idk if i'd call it "underrated" bc it has been giffed quite a lot but the scene in argestes where tom asks greg whether he got the champagne+paperweight or nuts+fruit in his gift basket and he's SO disappointed that he got the nuts... but then he's completely cheered up seemingly by the fact of greg's attempt alone, when greg reassures him that the cashews are the size of boomerangs... i just think that in spite of everything it's still perhaps understated just how affectionate of a relationship they are and how happy greg makes tom bc wtf

its enticing how much greg looks equally implicated. hes feeling exposed and emasculated, everyone knowing he lets tom tease and abuse him (to absurd degrees)...and unlike tom, he can't address it! he can only lower his gaze and squirm. its a stupid throwaway joke but there's something incredible about watching them, in their public personas, be forced to confront the weird roles they play in private. This is why this is the sexiest tomgreg shot.
