What's surprising to me is that it's Hudson people are talking about instead of Connor. Like obviously I'm annoyed by the push DC has done to focus on Dick's ass, but out of the two hockey boys, Connor has got CAKE. You'd think people would be pushing for him to play Nightwing instead.

If Dick is the one who taught Damian to love and feel loved, it is because Dick taught him "love" didn't mean to be the best or be considered unworthy and be replaced/killed/abandoned. Because Dick knew first hand the feeling of thinking perhaps he was not enough, he was not worthy and that's why in spite of him being there again and again for Bruce & others, he had been replaced/abandoned enough times.
If Damian already knew the kind of love Dick teaches him later, Damian wouldn't think his entire worth is only due to his blood relation to a couple of multimillionaires, that his worth isn't in how many he kills or how much he doesn't cry when hurt. If Damian knew conditional love before he showed up, he learnt what unconditional love looks like after Dick got him.
Dick taught that love means Damian is loved even when he falls or fails. Saying Damian already knew love before Dick got him is erasure of an understanding of love as should be between parental/guardian figures and children.

So this ask is referring to this post.
1) How dare you.
2) I mean, if we’re being a buck fifty here, this isn’t the first time Dick has temporarily forgone his leadership position. For those unaware, a few issues ago (maybe like a dozen? Idk?), Dick handed over the leadership mantle to Donna. But while this has always happened in the past, it has never stayed this way.
Like if Donna is still team leader two years from today, I swear to god, I will film a video of me pole dancing in a Discowing cosplay. HOLD ME TO IT.
And besides, while I emphasized the importance of leadership in Dick’s character as reason for him to continue being a Titan (see: Knightfight as the most recent example of many for how this has defined him), it’s also still valuable for him to be on a team regardless of position. Teamwork for Dick isn’t just defining because he’s usually the strategic head, it’s defining because of how connected he is. Because of how many friends he has. Because he *enjoys the company of* and *believes in* others.
He’s a unifying agent, the guy people want to rally behind no matter if it’s necessarily “behind him” or “with him” (see: Dark Crisis and Absolute Power, with Dark Crisis being more “with him” and Absolute Power being more “behind him”).
And so, yeah, I don’t want him removed from his team books. Especially since the Dan Watters run looks like it’s going to continue being very introspective and isolated (WHICH I FUCK WITH BY THE WAY; I’ve always loved the Nightwing solo being very “solo” while most of the Power of Friendship™️ moments get expressed in team books like Titans). Dick needs that connection to others, the Titans is literally his team and his creation alongside the rest of the other fab five, and I don’t see any reason for him to give it up. God forbid a man have friends.

4) I was gonna make a joke about which type of waffling I was doing and whether it was a good waffle, but I have T1D and literally have not been able to successfully administer insulin for a waffle without getting a sickness-inducing high blood sugar for over a decade so I have no idea what constitutes as a good waffle anymore. Those damn mochi waffles came out after I was already cursed. Why do they look so good when I can never have them without medical complications it’s not fair 😭 😭 😭
