In the light of recent events, here's something useful I came across recently if you want to join boycotting the US (and Russia) in support of freedom, democracy, and the rules based order of the world.
Lots of advice and discussion on Reddit's BuyFromEU and this:
Donate to Ukraine
United 24: General fundraising
Come Back Alive: Specific projects
Prytula foundation: Specific projects
Dzyga’s Paw: General fundraising (animal themed 🐶)
They need all the help they can get.
🇺🇦
Hospitallers: Volunteer organization of paramedics who work directly on the front line.
Kolo: Targeted campaigns and subscription.
All good options listed so far. More of my personal favorites -
Help99 : Vehicles, drones, and drone jammers . Subscription and one-off.
Protect-a-Volunteer: Matchmaking sponsors of funds and airline miles (for international volunteers), general fundraising
Renegade Relief Runners: Medical and humanitarian aid. Tax deductible in USA.
Prevail Together: Landmine removal, medical and humanitarian aid. Tax deductible in the USA.
Wild Hornets: Drones....TW: the resulting FPV drone footage is *extremely* NSFW/NSFL
Yuri Chornomorets: Specialized sniper ammunition
Drukarmy: 3D printing drone parts and medical supplies
Liberty Ukraine: Earthmoving equipment and general fundraising. Tax deductible in USA.
Tytanovi: Physiotherapy and rehab for war amputees
..........................
Shitlist (please avoid) -
German Lions For Ukraine - suspected pyramid scheme, low transparency, gives faulty medical supplies
Georgian Legion - Threatens people who ask for transparency
International Red Cross - Members have been photographed diverting refugees into Russian custody, and appear to spend more time skiing in the Carparthians than actually helping.
Hey people who speak latin: if "ad nauseum" is "until [you] throw up", then what would be "until insanity"? Would it be "ad delerium"?
I need this for all my "repeat until you go completely insane" expression needs.
As a Latin scholar, ad delirium is not only correct but also a wonderful use of language 👍
Sweet! This is a valuable addition to my arts and crafts vocabulary.
Media literacy hot take and I’m not sure some of you are ready for it:
if a fictional character is russian and lives during Russia’s military aggression against another country, and the work never addresses their thoughts or position on that war in any way, it automatically reinforces an already existing space where russians are not expected to reflect on the criminal actions of their state or their fellow citizens.
At the same time, it reassures russians — through foreign media — that the world also doesn’t see this as their problem.
If you believe that giving a fictional character a stance on their country’s military invasion "isn’t important", or that “there’s no reason to bring it up” because the story is just about their everyday life, then it’s hard to expect anything more responsible from real people.
“This is just a story about the struggles of an ordinary german dude during World War II — without touching on war or nazism, because he’s just a civilian and his personal life is already difficult” — i hope the analogy speaks for itself.
So please, don’t forget: while fictional films are being made about russians, documentaries are being made about the victims of their country.
“there’s no reason to bring it up” because the story is just about their everyday life - can you make war not affecting my everyday life then pretty please? because while russians can live day to day in ignorance i cant even plan my life or hope for any future because everything is steadily falling apart and i live in constant state of vigilance and restrictions no human should endure while in comparison to what horrors others are going through every moment here i'm living an extremely privileged life
Please read this. Over the past few weeks, russians have been putting a lot of effort into destroying Ukrainian energy and heating infrastructure with the goal of freezing civilians in their homes, as we are experiencing an abnormally cold winter, with temperatures reaching as low as -20°C. This is done with genocidal intent. It’s a war crime, and it barely reaches the news outside the country, if at all. They have been doing this for years to different degrees of severity, destroying the Kakhovka dam among other things, causing humanitarian disasters across the country, with little to no condemnation from the rest of the world. But now we might be at a critical point.
I honestly feel devastated. It’s clear that we’re severely lacking air defence capabilities. I keep hearing that our “allies” are delaying shipments, so our guys don’t have enough to intercept these missiles. Only ~20% of Kyiv has electricity at this moment, after last night’s attack. I don’t want to freeze to death. There are reports of another attack being prepared as we speak, using strategic aviation. Many homes have been without heating for days. People in high-rise buildings can’t use elevators and have no running water.
I wasn’t able to complete a single artwork in the first two weeks of 2026 - this simply feels like a waste of life. Every time I get electricity, I spend it on basic survival: cooking hot food, charging devices, not drawing, not working. I’ve been robbed of opportunities for four damned years. Everything feels pointless.
I don’t know if we’ll be able to withstand this. Those monsters are throwing everything at us - hundreds of murderous drones, ballistics, cruise missiles. Unable to break Ukrainians even with daily bombings, they’re counting on another humanitarian disaster - just freezing people in their own homes.
Please don’t stay silent. Please don’t ignore this. Ukraine is not a “trendy” topic anymore. Some people in Europe don’t even know if the war is still ongoing, while we stand as a meat shield for the rest of this continent, our lives completely worthless to the rest of the world.
And please remember, this is done with either full support or silent approval from the russian population, paid for by their taxes and by everyone who pays them from abroad. They don’t protest, they don’t care, they want us all to die. Please don’t ignore this nightmare, and please don’t contribute to it. It matters.

russia bombed electric stations all across ukraine, we've been barely having electricity for weeks now and it's the coldest winter in years. my home has 3 hours of electricity per day, some sit for days without electricity at all
lived long enough to see the country of ukraine quoting shevchenko's "keep figthing—you are sure to win" in farsi
HEY THERE EVERYONE.
If you don't know before then you know now that Russia is sending drone after drone after drone to rain down on Ukraine, destroying homes, people's lives, and wrecking livelihoods all around. They're hitting roads, raining down on civilians, and targeting vital infrastructure, like hospitals and shelters.
Russian drones recently attacked PLENTY of power stations, too. Enough that they've knocked out power in so many parts of Ukraine that many Ukrainians spent the holidays without power, and are STILL dealing with minimal electrical access, which is an important part of Russia's warfare on Ukraine (disabling Ukraine's ability to use the technology needed to defend themselves against Russia's attacks).
A fundraiser is being raised for the production of interceptor drones that can help block Russian drones by intercepting them before the Russian drones can make their target. It is currently at 28%, and could use our help getting the word out.

ⓘ Tip If you feel unfulfilled by how you spent your time today, you can stay up late to try to combat the sense of dissatisfaction. This will ensure that you feel even worse tomorrow.
