yeah if Russia or China had the power, they would absolutely be bombing the United States. The only reason they don’t is because they’re scared of the US military not because they care about international law. How dumb and privileged and clueless about real life can these people get? Western leftists are some of the most unselfaware unserious people I have ever met.

also did we forget all the other countries whose sovereignty has been/is being violated? So many people in Sudan are being slaughtered by UAE backed forces that you can literally see the pools of their blood from outer fucking space. Russia invaded Ukraine in 2014 and tens of thousands died even before they launched a second larger invasion in 2022, which sparked a war that is still ongoing. Russian forces also invaded Georgia. And many other places from Syria to Chechnya. Saudi Arabia just bombed Yemen four days ago. there are so many conflicts in the world that these people ignore.

I’m not in any way excusing Trump’s illegal actions (or supporting Maduro’s dictatorship) but the myopic ignorance of these people who don’t get how privileged they are to live in a country protected by a powerful military that keeps them safe drives me insane.

no I’m sorry I’m still so angry about this, about the ignorance of people who refuse to acknowledge or consider their own privilege. Do you think getting invaded or murdered or enslaved or tortured or having your things destroyed or looted only happens to other people in far away lands because those people somehow deserve it? It happens to people who can’t defend themselves from their enemies.

The United States is a rich country with lots of resources. there’s a lot of evil people in the world and believe me there are many who would love to come to America and bomb its cities and steal its resources and loot the possessions of the people there and rape, and kill and enslave the people in its populace for profit or just for fun.

The reason that isn’t happening isn’t because it would be mean or because it’s somehow ok and normal to do that to people in Syria or Sudan but not the United States. The only reason it isn’t happening is because the United States has a powerful military that they’re scared of. and by the way there’s also a lot of other countries they also don’t do it to because the United States is an ally of that country and it was reasonable to trust that the United States would strongly defend its allies (tho this may change now because of Trump).

people who were born and grew up in the United States or in another safe democratic country really have no idea about the real world and their privileges. And then a lot of them instead of learning just bathe in their ignorance every day and talk about things they don’t understand. and frankly it disgusts me.

People being brutalized and murdered in Sudan deserve safety and security just as much as you do, but they don’t have it because they don’t have anyone to defend them. You really think it couldn’t happen to you or that it’s the natural order what it happens to them?? you think you’re better than them somehow? no you’re not. all you are is more privileged because you have a strong military or an ally with a strong military.

People who don’t know what it’s like to fear rape and enslavement by marauding enemy forces forces, who have never feared that enemy troops could come to their home and butcher them and everyone else in their town like animals, who have never survived bombings and known others who did not, need to maybe shut tf up for five minutes and educate themselves (and no reading online propaganda or watching dumb hot takes on TikTok does not count.)

y'all need to relearn the word erratic and stop using schizophrenic/bipolar/psychotic as a replacement

y'all need to relearn the word particular and stop using ocd as a replacement

People need to relearn the word "egocentric" and stop using narcissist/narc as a replacement.

People need to relearn the word "impulse" and stop using "intrusive thought" as a replacement

A while back, while working on Dead Reckoning and Final Reckoning, Christopher McQuarrie was asked about his once dream project - an Alexander the Great biopic, a script he wrote which infamously never got picked up by any studio back in the 2000's as they didn't know what to do with an action epic movie that was also gay.

And this was what he said:

I have to say, when I was watching The Final Reckoning, the submarine USS Ohio and its crew (aka the Gay Submarine) did make me think of that tweet. The context is different, but I still felt like it was evoking something.

And then my friend @sexypneumothorax decided to look up other aspects of the Alexander story. Particularly Hephaestion - military officer, engineer and diplomat, Alexander's closest friend, right-hand man, and, as many (including, evidently, McQuarrie himself) believe, - Alexander's lover. And some of the things on his Wikipedia page just... evoke scenes or events from The Final Reckoning and feel like a source of inspiration for it.
