sorry i was passionate & intense & insane. it will happen again
Rich people are so fucking boring they always just have like Frenchies. If I was rich I would have like 8 of the rarest fucking breeds you could imagine. I’d have a fucking Braque du Bourbonnais. I’d have a Tazy. I’d have a Bolonka. People would come over and be like, “What kind of dog is this?” And I’d be like oh that’s my Turnspit dog I paid to have a breeding program create from historical records. Get on my fucking level.
your kingdom honestly sucks. your princess replaced all of the knights with animated suits of armor :/
i stuck my hand inside the hollow suit of armour and it was wet in there
what's your problem
it was wet in there
western liberals
the most valueable skill a white leftist can ever learn is how to take an L with grace.
You gotta be able to take an L if your moral and ethical belief systems are to be capable of guiding you. Otherwise you just have an idealized self where you get really mad and scared when anyone points out it isn't actually you. How the fuck are you gonna walk the walk if you can't handle being told when you are not, in fact, actually walking it
you cannot just socially transition into being a good person you are going to have to settle for being a messy human being who has to try and fail and keep trying to get better like everyone else. yeah even when it's embarassing and sucks for you a lot.
Ya gotta learn to earnestly and honestly say "Oh shit, my bad."
And to then end the sentence there, not launch into a paragraph of explanation or panicked super-apology.
Insane how they can still do this. Like just show up and kidnap a president of a supposedly sovereign country
Watching NBC. “They took Maduro into custody” its incredible. Into “custody”
Everything the US does along these lines is also a show of force intended for the rest of the world imo. Like hi in case you forgot (we didn’t) we can and will operate with complete impunity
every time a country is invaded by the US under the excuse of “rescuing” its people, what’s left behind is either a cemetery or an open air asylum.
there isn’t a single case in history where the US actually saved a country from anything, what they did leave behind, consistently, were stolen resources, exploited land, and futures permanently scarred by military dictatorships.
what the US does in the middle east is widely known, what many people still don’t fully grasp is what they’ve done and continue to do in latin america.
they funded, trained, and supported military dictatorships across most of the region, and they infiltrated our cultures in a calculated, orchestrated way that still shapes us today.
to my LATAM stay strong cuz we’re going to need it in the years ahead.
updated: for those wanting to help venezuelans, these are the best general ways to go about it
+ the AFSC call to action (US)
the US wants to run Venezuela through just a conglomerate of oil companies. this is pure extractive colonialism and imperialist aggression. not to like be iranian on main but. oil. it's always fucking oil.
"at least venezuela lost a dictator" "the good thing about trump's invasion" "maduro deserved it" oh my god some of you are dangerously susceptible to fascist propaganda.
unfriendly and honestly hostile reminder that trump isn't invading venezuela because maduro is a dictator, or because of drug cartels. he's doing it only and exclusively because they have desirable oil reserves and no other reason. reminder that venezuela is a comparatively poor country that will never financially recover from this. reminder that venezuelans are suffering with the bombing and the air strikes. reminder that trump did it to steal from them and no one did anything. reminder that this sets a dangerous precedent and now all trump has to do to invade another country is claim they're in a dictatorship. reminder that trump is a fascist dictator.
this will only be bad, for venezuelans and for all of latin america (and possibly the whole world) in the long run. trump did this not to help the venezuelans or their country, but to steal their petrol and get away with it. and he will. because that's what dictators do.
i feel physically ill. we need to be getting violent about this, i don’t know what else to say
immediately started seeing these kind of takes on twitter and I know they will reach here and you have to understand this isn't happening because the US is the country of cartoon villains who does things because it's evil. It's imperialism. The US has an empire and it wants to keep it and extend it. When it does not use diplomatic and political means it uses financial and economic control, when that does not work it tries to use intelligence operations and when that does not work it uses military action. Venezuela has gone and suffered through all the stages of this and now it's being struck with direct military action.
And again, the reason why the US does all this is not because "thirst for blood and chaos", it's because it's an empire. It wants the natural resources of Venezuela. It wants to keep its imperial dominion over Latin America, it wants to erase potential rivals on the region and keep it under their control. They have said it so. Explicitly.
Stop thinking things happen because of craaaazy guys like Trump or just because the US is "cursed" or whatever the fuck. These things have reasons behind them. Learn that the US is an empire, that it has economic and political interests behind the actions they do, that Latin America and the rest of the global south, and also the US people themselves, have to resist and challenge this empire, and that the only way for this empire to end will be the dismantling and destruction of the US capitalist oligarchy and the triumph of socialism and anti-imperialism.
"The us" wants nothing because its an abstraction. it doesnt really exist. It's not "the americans" doing it. its a corrupt oligarchic government that was going the way of oligarchy & corruption long before trump showed up, hes just the mold that shows up when you dont let the humidity out of your house for long enough. foreign policy in particular is barely distinguishable between the parties.
i wont shed a tear if the ones responsible (politicians & their rich backers, thinktanks, party functionaries etc.) spontaneously combust tomorrow
But it needs to be understood that average joes have very limited control over anything their corrupt political system does, as should be evident from how so many of them are piss-poor & lacking basic amenities while there is endless money for murder. The influence isn't zero, by all means vote, protest, back anti-war candidates from the local level up etc. but it's a very indirect lever.
Some rando living in a van in texas has very little control over where the bombs go.
The same is true about ppl that the US political leadership likes to demonize, like russians, chinese & middle eastern ppl. Ppl are not their government, they often don't even like their government.
That was the biggest way that nationalism has rotted ppls brains, making them see totally unrelated groups in extremly different political & economic situations as 'the same' due to sharing 1 trait like a language or religion.
I don't think you are entirely wrong per se and I agree with most of what you say but this is precisely the point I was wanting to make. The US isn't "an abstraction" or a concept. It is a real country with real geopolitical interests a real ruling class with real economic stakes and a real ideological mindset. I know that talking about how these concepts are social constructs feel good and in a sense I agree, they are social constructs as they are constructed by society. But they're still real.
for those wanting to help venezuelans affected by the bombings through donations, these are currently the best ways to go. will add more links as more is set up
