annabeth taking the initiative to bleat like a sheep and nudging percy to follow suit has the same energy as the “I said hello to the poodle. You say hello to the poodle.” scene we didn’t get from season one—i really appreciate a) her comedic timing and b) percy resigning himself to just do whatever she tells him to do

The fact little Annabeth's hair is well groomed, wich means Thalia probably did her hair, and of course Luke doesn't understand how they could be close after just two months because he can't understand the ancestral, intimate, magical connection of girls doing each other's hair so—

I identify the most with the woman who has a green velvet ribbon around her neck and keeps being like "DONT untie my neck ribbon or something really bad will happen" and then her husband unties the ribbon and her head falls off. this is extremely real to me. spent my whole life like "please don't do this thing to me or really bad stuff will happen" and everyone around me being like "that sounds fake" and doing it anyway. and then my head fell off!

1. wow this went very popular very fast

2. many of you are correcting me, but the version of the story where she instructs her husband to untie the ribbon on her deathbed is just one version of the story, and you're probably only familiar with that one bc it's in scary stories to tell in the dark. there's other versions! many of which involve someone removing the ribbon against her will/while she is asleep/etc

3. you'll never guess whose head is actually falling off. I should have listened to my brain telling me that this was A Relevant Tale a lot sooner, I think

Hey so quick question, anyone here from Canada that can tell me what’s there to do in Toronto?? Or close by? I am going there for my aunt’s birthday in a few weeks because she wants to see the Niagara Falls and I am not about to take the same boat tour for five days straight 🫠

First of all, be aware that Niagara Falls is about 2 hours from Toronto proper so, depending on where you're staying you might want to make plans closer to for some days.

But, there is plenty to do in Toronto and the GTA (greater Toronto area), depending on what you're interested in.

I live about an hour outside of Toronto, but my favourite reason to go downtown is always theatre. If you're interested in that scene, Mirvish is like the Broadway of Ontario; there's always some incredible shows going on.

The Distillery District is also a pretty cool place to check out. The architecture is really neat and it's just a great little area for shopping, food, and some neat galleries.

If you're into museums and such, The ROM (Royal Ontario Museum) is always excellent. The featured exhibits at the moment are Sharks, and Wildlife Photographer of the Year. Plus the usual museum stuff.

In a similar vein, Ripley's Aquarium and the Toronto Zoo are always great for animal-based fun lol.

If you're in the Niagara area, I definitely recommend Niagara-On-The-Lake, particularly if you have any interest in breweries or wineries, but it's also just a really pretty little town that's fun to walk around and shop in, and is only 30 minutes from the falls. (if you do go there, you must go to Cows; best ice cream on earth.)

If you like sports, that's always going on too. I'm really only a baseball guy and unfortunately, you're a little early for that season, but I believe hockey and basketball are happening right now, so you could see if the Leafs, Raptors, or the PWHL are playing while you're here.

I also found a handy little list here of sorta nerdy-type places to check out in Toronto, if anything there sparks interest.

That's about all I've got right now, but if you want more; anything more specific to certain topics or have any questions, feel free to hit me up! Hope this was helpful! :)

Oh this is all great information, we are definitely not staying all the time at Niagaras that’s mostly why I was asking, do you know about any good fashion shopping zone? I know my aunt, she loves clothes shopping and she would definitely ask for that specifically.

If you're talking boutiques, then the fashion district of Queen West is where to go. It passes through China Town and continues on for several blocks. High end stuff is in Yorkville, where you can also play Spot The Celebrity if that's your cup of tea. If you mean more like malls, then there's a big one along the block starting at Yonge and Dundas. That area also has great shopping in general.

And if it's your first time in Canada, there's some essential things to do(eat...) that don't depend on the city-

  • Poutine, especially from a food truck
  • Ketchup and/or all dressed potato chips
  • Beaver Tails (Trust me.)
  • Butter tarts

Yeah first time in Canada so I am definitely writing this all down thanks!

"Maybe we should call on someone stronger. More wise. Someone who can help."

AND THEY SHOW SALLY MOTHERFUCKIN' JACKSON. HELL YESSSSS.

i love that she was shopping and IMMEDIATELY LOCKED IN.

"Grover, I've been a mother to a demigod for 13 years and to a Cyclops for 1. Just tell me what's really going on."

(as the shop employee stares at her judgingly LMAO)

and i love that she sees TYSON as her own 🥹

As much as I make fun of Percy for being down bad from day one what I really love is that he truly thinks this is regular friend behaviour. He’s unleashing his inner wattpad mafia boss for Annabeth, has her picture on his mirror, promises he’d burn down Olympus for her, seems offended there’s ‘another’ boyfriend and thinks it is purely platonic. And the best part is Percy is such a loverboy in all meanings of the world that that genuinely is understandable because he is simultaneously going to the sea of monsters for Grover, having Grover’s picture on his mirror, telling Grover he looks beautiful in a wedding dress, embracing Grover like the husband he presumed missing at sea and being so soulmated to his best friend that they dream together.

The sirens had no effect on Percy because the only thing on his mind was making sure Annabeth was safe. This is insane. This is the most accurate Percy-fatal -flaw-tunnel-vision-Jackson ever.

Annabeth's fatal flaw making her think she could save them, and almost getting her killed, and Percy's fatal flaw actually saving them because the fact that she was in danger shielded him from everything else? It turns out that her fatal flaw ultimately saved him in the end, too. They saved each other!

This is the most soulmate thing in the whole world, when you are both unbelievably and irreversibly flawed, but your flaws complement each other in a way where neither of you could survive on your own, but together you can get through impossible things.

Clarisse realising she has the wrong coordinates: Jackson (derogatory)

Percy (who DID try to tell them they were wrong) feeling his name being wrongly invoked out in the open sea:

I still think the coolest thing Percy ever did was looking a God in the eye and telling him "I'm Sally Jackson's son" with no hesitation when Poseidon was brought up

It's funny how Percy's priority was Annabeth and Clarisse's was the fleece, but it was Percy who ended up confronting Luke for the fleece, and Clarisse who fought to protect Annabeth.

It's wonderful how the series establishes these dynamics and motivations within the team and allows them to reveal more about themselves than that.

Because yes, Percy would sacrifice the world if it meant saving someone he loves, but at the same time, he doesn't actively want the world to be destroyed, so when the opportunity presents itself to be a good person, to be a hero, but without putting the people he loves in danger, he seizes it.

Because yes, Clarisse is a camper trained to prioritize the success of her battles over the risks and, to some extent, the lives of those around her, but at the same time, she is loyal and cares about those who fight alongside her, so if she finds an opportunity to help an ally without sacrificing the success of the battle, she doesn't hesitate to come to their aid.

The choice to balance Percy and Clarisse's strengths and weaknesses was, for me, the highlight of this season in terms of character dynamics.
