So was talking with @wyvchard about an IEYTD pokemon AU and uhhh

I realized I needed to give Zor a pokemon team. So here is my take:

Pecharunt

Ability: Poison Puppeteer

-Gunk Shot -Hex -Malignant Chain -Destiny Bond

Darkrai

Ability: Bad Dreams

-Hypnosis -Disable -Foul Play -Haze

Annihilape

Ability: Inner Focus

-Counter -Rage Fist -Bulk Up -Close Combat

Galarian Weezing

Ability: Levitate

-Dazzling Gleam -Explosion -Gunk Shot -Protect

Salamence

Ability: Moxie

-Outrage -Dual Wingbeat -Crunch -Earthquake

Corviknight

Ability: Mirror Armor

-Tailwind -Taunt -Iron Defense -Body Press

Zor would be that one jerk in a Pokemon Game that had 2 Mythicals/Legendaries. And so, imo, there are no better Pokemon suited to Zor than both Pecharunt and Darkrai

I figured Zor needed Ominous, sometimes slightly tricky Pokemon. Hence Annihilape and Corviknight. Zor doesn't deserve the honor of using THE WALL, but they will have their Corviknight copy the ideas behind it.

Their Galarian Weezing represents their Business Persona and Zoraxis Corporation as a whole. Which is why it knows Explosion. Also because Zor is, again, a jerk.

Zor has Salamence for the fact that "evil villian needs a dragon" wouldn't leave my head. And Mega Gyrados doesn't fit them, aesthetically. If someone has a better one lemme know.

Now onto LORE✨✨✨

  • You can bet your *anything* that Zor didn't come by Darkrai honestly, but Zor themself are so TOXIC that Pecharunt sought them out PERSONALLY. Game recognises Game.
  • Zor doesn't nickname their Pokemon. They are their tools. Nothing more. (Except Corviknight. Secretly that one is Varnish.)
  • Zor is secretly a battle nut at heart and has watched videos about competitive teams. Which is why Corviknight is Like That (tm)
  • In this AU my Phoenix's team is mostly fast sweepers, because they're used less for combat and more for spywork, so this is a ROUGH matchup for them.
  • For those wondering, Nix's Pokemon in question are Hisuian Zoroark, Hisuian Typhlosion, Absol, Toxtricity, Lucario, and Noivern. If anyone asks, I'll talk about them in a different post.

Reginald's Going In | Burned Ties AU

Phoenix sighed. Who was he kidding? He was entirely out of options without borrowing power he doesn't have the energy to spare for.

The part of himself he chose to ignore was screaming at him to stop telling himself he didn't deserve the power, anyway.

…31 rivets. 32. 33. 34.

He would've kept going, when he got an idea.

The rivets.

He just needed to see if any nearby were loose enough for TK to pull on- if he could break open the door, he'd have somewhat of an escape plan.

Hope floods his veins as he gets back up, now studying the rivets in a different way.

Secure… secure… secure… loose.

Reginald nearly jumped when the fax machine went off. Roxanna had pulled through, just as she said. He picked up the paper detailing the layout of the Zoraxis base, margins littered with notes and annotations, and one spot circled over and over with the word “here” in all caps. If that's where his agent is, then he's wasting no time dawdling. He opens a drawer and pockets a handgun he hasn't used in years, but always kept loaded just in case, alongside a lighter to make Phoenix feel better the instant he saved him. He puts in a notice for a day's worth of paid leave, and he's out the door before anyone can say a word. He takes his own car, an old dark green *Jalopy that he's taken great care of over the years, to the base and parks it out of view in some brush.

“The rust spots practically act as camouflage!" He remembers his Agent signing to him once. At that time, he had reacted with an indignant scoff, but now?

…

Nope. Still indignant. The rust gives it *charm*, thank you very much.

Now let's hope HIS charm got him to Phoenix in time.

*A Jalopy is an old, rundown car that's seen better days. Crane is canonically not a very good driver 😅

I Expect Yee to Haw Headcanons!

These are some personal headcanons for my Phoenix, Damien (aka Bluejay)!

  • You can tell which of Zor's lackeys have fought Bluejay based on their injuries- damaged knees, cracked ribs, and broken noses are very good signs of having tussled and lost with the vigilante. He knows how to scrap- and it's not how HARD you hit, but WHERE. He's very good at it.
  • There was one time he got a bit too cocky with his titles writing articles for the paper, so Zoraxis decided to give him a warning by trapping him in a building. He can't have any association with his vigilante self, so he was MAD at having to sit and twiddle his thumbs for what may as well be *days*. But it didn't take long for Peanut and Reggie to bust him out, which endeared the two to him.
  • He met Oscar Tense after saving him from an attempt on his life via Fabricator. They've been lovebirds ever since, and Oscar is the only one who knows Bluejay and Damien are one and the same.
  • Bluejay'll sometimes run interference behind the scenes when he gets word that Peanut and Reggie might be overwhelmed. He never tells them about this.
  • He affectionately pesters Phina for funsies 🙃
  • Sometimes he'll write about Wraith in the paper, hyping her up to be scarier than she is as an apology for occasionally disruptung her plans.
  • He has a tattoo.
  • He has his 2 pet snakes and 2 pet scorpions like he does in my canon timeline. I don't think the folks in town quite know why the critters act as loyal as they do. He doesn't either, really. (They just think their silly human is neat XD)
  • Don't ever ask him what happened to his family. He won't tell you.
  • He annoys the HECK out of Ameri by leaving evidence of Zor's crimes on his porch like a cat bringing mice to their owner 😼

protective whumpees

  • letting themselves be manhandled and taken away as long as they see their loved ones safe
  • constantly making sacrifices, bonus points if the people around them don't know about the secret deals they're making to keep them safe/fed/unpunished/free - "it's okay, i can handle it"; "no, everything's fine. go back to bed"; "i think you'll be out soon... yeah, i just have a feeling."
  • whumpees offering to take punishments for their loved ones who break the rules - whether this is to their knowledge or not; maybe their loved ones break more rules because they think the captor doesn't know, they aren't being punished for it, so maybe it's okay! meanwhile whumpee is semi-constantly dazed and exhausted, hiding their pain because they love the light in their beloved's eyes
  • whumpees who really don't see themselves as very brave at all but the second their friends are threatened, put themselves in front of the knife even as they flinch away from it

When a character keeps picking the hardest path because they think they deserve to suffer...

✦ They self-sabotage without realizing it. As soon as something starts going well (a relationship, a goal, a good day) they do something to wreck it. They don’t know why, but deep down, it’s because they don’t believe it’s allowed to last.

✦ They always take the harder route, even when an easier option is right there. They’ll pick the path with more resistance, more pressure, more risk, not because they want to prove something, but because struggle feels honest in a way peace doesn’t.

✦ They don’t ask for help, not even a little, not even when they’re clearly drowning. Not because they don’t need it, but because needing anything feels weak, and they’d rather fall apart quietly than be seen falling.

✦ They downplay every win, even when they’ve worked themselves to the bone, they’ll say, “It wasn’t that hard.” They never want to take up too much space, never want to be too proud, so they shrink their joy before anyone else can.

✦ They flinch at softness. Compliments make them tense, affection feels suspicious, kindness makes them feel like they’re waiting for the catch, like, “What do you really want from me?”

✦ They believe happiness has to be earned. Like they need to suffer first, prove they’ve paid the price and somehow, they always decide they haven’t done enough yet. That they need to work harder, be better, hurt longer...

✦ They don’t hate themselves, but they don’t love themselves enough to think they deserve anything good, either. They survive, but thriving? being happy? That feels like a story meant for someone else.

Shawn and Roxanna | Burned Ties AU

Quick notes- there will be mention of a couple codes, being Code Ashes and Code Birdcage. Birdcage I came up with myself, but Ashes comes from @purplebehittindifferent iirc. If they have a problem w/ me using it, I will happily remove it. The Poll had Prism as the winner, but someone (I think @solhunder2 ??? Its after midnight sue me) mentioned Shawn in HR being more than a joke and I realized I really wanted to write him. So he's here too. Now onto the tag list.
