Ea being sold to the Saudi government and jared kushners investment group was not on my bingo card I'll be honest. I think we can safely assume that all ea games will now be flooded with even more microtransactions in order to pay for this. And also cost cutting things like job cuts, ai imagery over real artists, etc. Godspeed to anybody who works for ea.

Tbf, EA ( their CEO anyway ) had already admitted to using AI in some areas of the company which seemed pretty obvious considering some of the promo material on the last pack, and this is Electronic Arts we’re talking about. The gaming company that set the precedent for predatory micro-transactions, crunch culture, and yearly layoffs, which is why ppl have been saying for years, even during TS3’s reign, to “stop giving EA your money”.
So I don’t think I’m even as surprised as I thought I’d be about this, just surprised it happened now with everything else that’s going on, and to the tune of $55 Billion Dollars.
There’s no way this isn’t a front for something much deeper and more concerning going on, and I fear it’ll be something that might spread to rest of the AAA industry, if it hasn’t already.
Either way, no better time than ever to support small and independent games.

Does anyone know if a mod exists that lets family/friends from unactive households function as babysitters??
I feel like that would be so cute instead of a default spawned teen babysitter, but I don't know if it exists or if that's even something that is possible to mod 🤨
I found a couple of threads about it over on nraas, and apparently it's not possible to make active sims into babysitters:
"There is no way to have an active sim carry out a Service function, and butlers are Service Sims. If/when they are made active, they will lose their Service assignment immediately. So no, there is no way to actively control a butler, maid, babysitter, mail/pizza delivery sim, grim reaper, etc. while having them retain those functions." igazor
The only way I can think of doing it is maybe using Savanita's Expanded Active Household mod, and including the Sims you want to babysit in your expanded household. I haven't actually tried it though – the mod looks really great, but unfortunately monopatcher crashes my game, so I can't use any of the mods made on it.

I have been eyeing Savanita's mod as well and it might work for this purpose, I might try it out eventually but I'm noticing some crashing with my game at the moment so I don't think adding a mod (and monopatcher) is a good idea for my already unstable game right now 😭
So for now I'm going to keep things as they are, and as you quoted from the nraas forums, it doesn't look like it's possible because of the service sim assignment etc.
I'll leave this here in case anyone wondered the same, so thank you for clarifying 💕

Well folks, after nearly two months of not even opening my blog and keeping up with simblr shenanigans I can now confirm that I am, in fact, still here. In what capacity and how much is as much a mystery to me as it is to you. What can I say, my whimsical spirit leads me and I merely follow the astral signs from the universe ✨
On a serious note though, I am doing Okay, one might even go as far as to say I am doing Great, and that's a big word for me to use, trust me. I went on holiday, wrote some HP fanfic for some unknown reason (again, astral signs or smt lmao) and generally recharged. Just giving a little update post to make it clear the old bloggie is not abandoned!

Cleaned my mods folder, so now all that's left is to find the motivation to actually *play* the game! My plan for this is to take a chaotic neutral townie to university (Amy Bull the absolute diva you are) and just, make her get with every roommate in the house, Every Single One. We shall see how this experiment goes 🤠
update: we're over halfway there my dudes 😈
Small update:
We cleared the roster, all roommates have been romanced and an honourable mention to getting the last two roommates on the SAME day right before going home.
Thanks to Amy's shenanigans she's got the manipulator reputation, only one of the roommates actively dislikes us now bc she was in a relationship with ANOTHER roommate and was not happy about that. I've managed to keep FOUR of them romantic interests without them finding out about the others, and the other two are still friends or aquaintances but no romance 💀
Also we got a B for our actual degree, which is kinda impressive because girliepop really wasn't doing much outside of class except going to parties, making friends and making moves on roommates.
All in all, she's back home now with the actual boyfriend that stayed behind and knows nothing and I had fun! Might go back to uni because we're this 🤏🏼 close to finishing that degree but we'll see ✨
